If you have been to any International style Hotel in a city, then you will know what to expect !

Park in the layby outside and a doorman will appear and help you unload. Valet parking is available, but we chose DIY as I wanted to see where our cars were going to !

Reception is quite normal and soon one is despatched with an electronic door key to the room. The rooms are so typical of any other room...... open the door, A/C controls on left by lightswitch, take one step, bathroom door, take a further two steps past wardrobe and enter bedroom area. Double bed, cabinet either side, desk, armchair etc and double doors to mini balcony. Open door under desk, find mini bar and have cold 33 cl beer for 8 euros. I am sure that most people reading this review will have seen it, done it but not bought the tee shirt !!

Dinner was a very normal experience with nothing out of the ordinary either good or bad to report.

The beds were more confortable than one would usually expect, which was down to a sort of mini feather matress/pad that goes on top of the regular matress. (This idea seems to be quite fashionable in France at the moment)

Breakfast was as uneventfull as dinner, with a good spread of all of the old favorites that one has come to expect from an International hotel chain.

Departure was efficient and the bill was prepared prior to asking the stock question..........'Did you have anything from the Mini Bar Sir ?'

All in all a normal experience at normal prices with normal roomsand normal food.
You won't be disappointed but you won't be able to say ' Wow what a fantastic place'

You know when you are absolutely dying for a beer and you go to the fridge more in hope than expectation and there's a cheeky bottle of Kronenberg behind the milk? That's a little like Sofitel. Been driving for hours and was expecting a Fawlty Towersesque experience, but the service was excellent, the rooms so comfortable and the bed ridiculously comfy. It has got an old school elegance and is bang int he middle of Dijon - itself a really nice little town. All in all definitely worth a stop over - and I am the worlds biggest boutique hotel kinda guy...

You find a few of these gems in travels across Europe. OK the decor is dated but the service is brilliant, the rooms comfortable and the restaurant superb. They have covered valet parking with private garages which I guess is why there's a procession of very tasty cars (mostly Swiss).

Breakfast buffet can get a bit hectic - you need to be on your toes to negotiate all the stations and people knocking you out of the way to get to a boiled egg. Think Germans and sunloungers x 10.

We only stayed 1 night as we were on our way to Monaco.

The check in service was fantastic we had pre booked a garage space.

We arrived quite late but still ate in the restaurant - good food, service & wine.
Breakfast was also very good with good service.

The only thing I would say was the rooms were quite small, but for the purpose of our visit they were fine.

We stayed here in June for a weekend to explore Dijon. Reasonable room on the first floor, and we were surprised that the double glazing completely blocked out any noise from the busy street outside which was great. The room was clean & the bed was one of the most comfortable that I have ever slept in!
However, we were really surprised on coming back to the hotel on our first night at midnight after a late dinner, that it was locked up for the evening. We had to call the main switchboard & ask for someone to come down to let us in - which I have never seen before in a 4-star hotel. The staff member who eventually opened the door to us seemed very grumpy to have been disturbed, and no apology was given.
Didn't bother with eating in the hotel as there were too many other nice restaurants in the area that were a lot cheaper.
