“Not central, but good business hotel”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

The staff were polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We were only there for one night and it was a Sunday. The area that the hotel is in appears to be closed on a Sunday. Didnt matter as we ate in the restaurant at the hotel which was exceptional. Free car oarking available and close to the Tram stop.

Room Tip: Eat in the restaurant. Great food and great staff

If you want to be sure you get screwed, book a room here. Although they offer free breakfast for kids, they eventually don't allow kids in your room.
So they want you to book another room. We didn't get a refund, although we asked with the pre-booking how they would deal with very young kids (who don't need a bed yet) in the room.
So a very unfriendly and overall not service oriented hotel, they only want your money in stead and are not aiming on returning guest at all.
If you do want value for money drive on for another 30 to 45 minutes and go to the lovely and very friendly St/ Georges Hotel in Chalon-sur-Saone!

We weren’t a great hotel experience as it was a 1 night stop off en route to the South of France - But boy, were we pleasantly surprised.
We loved:
- Perfectly clean rooms and modern furnishings with all mod cons and great black-out blinds
- Dijon – such a delight to discover. If, like us, you view Dijon as just a stopover – don’t there’s so much more to see. In future, we would definitely factor in a couple of hours just to look around the city and enjoy a lunch or dinner.
- Efficient and helpful staff
- secure car park with plenty of spaces
We didn’t like:
- Breakfast as an option was quite pricey
- You can feel that it definitely caters for the short-term traveller

This hotel is about a 20 min walk from the centre of Dijon but it is an easy walk in a perfectly pleasant neighbourhood, with local shops and restaurants. The best thing about our booking was that because my husband is over 60 and our son is under 16 they both got free breakfasts, and because they were both free I was also free! Crazy but we loved it. This was originally explained to us on the phone, when we booked , by the wonderful Fanny at reception, and when we met in person she was just as dry, funny and efficient as we expected. The room was perfectly fine, a bit small with the extra bed, and although it faced the road it was quiet. Even in the fierce heat, the air conditioning worked well. We would definitely stay here again!

We checked into a room with ample space and the car tucked into their underground garage. , We even had a fridge, a rare event in French hotels and since we often brought cheese, meats and wines, it was great to have things kept cold ! Breakfast vouchers were dispensed as well. Found a post office next door which we used to ship some heavier items like tour books, maps no longer needed etc which paid off to ensure we met the baggage weight requirement for our flight back home in a few days.
The city was having major road work done so we were better off on foot to visit this beautiful clean city with loads of shops, restaurants and old architecture.Of course we visited the Dijon Mustard Shop and tasted some colorful and tasty samples. Our second day, we visited Alesia, the ancient city of the Gauls where an organised rebellion was held against the Romans by Vercingetoris( 58BC)! A beautiful statue had been erected by Napoleon 111 and stands over the green fields on a high hill. Definitely need a car to get there but the drive was beautiful with small town, old farms and homes. The area would really be interesting to visit longer than one day! Had brought a picnic and watched a few buses of tourists onload and visit the area( statue and ruins of the original Gaul-Roman village).

We stayed in Dijon on our way back from the South of France (a chance to break up the journey and explore Dijon). We arrived at about 4pm and were checked in immediately. The receptionist gave us our breakfast vouchers and asked if we wanted to book a table at the restaurant - the hotel was apparently fully booked and so we should book early to avoid disappointment. We decided not to as we wanted to eat in town. Also, the menu looked very expensive with not a lot of choice on there.

There was an underground gated car park which was good. There was direct access by lift from the car park to the hotel rooms.

The room was average sized but clean and comfortable. We had just spent five days camping and so we were just pleased to see a bed and shower. Speaking of which, the shower was a rainwater style one and was lovely! Our room overlooked the main road but being six floors up, we didn't hear any traffic.

We then decided to take a walk into town - it was about ten minutes walk which was fine.

On our return to the hotel, we found the restaurant was fairly empty, despite the hotel apparently being full so I'm not sure if there really would have been a need to book a table?

The bed was comfortable and I had a pleasant nights sleep. We checked out fairly early next morning. Breakfast was not included in our room price and the vouchers they gave us when we checked in were just something we were to hand over when we went down for breakfast - we would still have been required to pay 16 Euros each which I felt was a bit too pricey for breakfast.

There is an outdoor swimming pool but we did not get the opportunity to use it - looked nice enough though.

All in all a nice stay. We got a deal when we booked at £70 per night and I think the hotel was worth that - not sure I'd be willing to pay more.

We stayed here for one night on our way to the south. Very clean, comfortable and friendly hotel. We would stay here again. It was convenient for the city centre - only about 10 minutes walk. Underground garage excellent.
