“good food and open on Sunday”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2014

We ate here on a Saturday night, and went back on Sunday. There are better restaurants, but the food is good and on Sunday there are few places open. A plus for us was that our hotel was a block away. On Saturday we had been out touring Bourgogne and tasting wines and someone in our little group had mentioned boeuf Bourguignon, which made both my husband and me hungry for exactly that dish. So we looked at the menus of a few restaurants near our hotel (we didn't want to go very far as we had a fair walk from where we were dropped off). L'Epicerie & Cie serves a very good boeuf Bourguignon. It is served in what looks like an antique metal French workman's lunchbox, along with a bowl into which you can transfer it. The portions are sizable. We also ordered a raw vegetable salad that was presented as a tiny garden in a small wooden crate. I do not recall what we ordered on Sunday, but it was good. There is patio seating as well as indoor.

“Very atypical restaurant”

We dined in the room in the back, decorated like a farmhouse, the food was rather so-so from some aspects but we were a large group, I assume the food is better usually and I liked the deco

“FR/EN Belle terrasse, bel intérieur et bon vin”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2014

In English below
Nice restaurant for a country side but high quality cooking which goes well with decoration. However I DON'T recommend the fish. The little Camembert is a nice experience. Inside is really pretty with nice atmosphere. Some of the rooms are very big, which mean that there is always available tables ( even during weekends).

“Best food in Dijon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2014

I was in town for a work conference with a bunch of internationals and we had a large group on the terrace. The waitstaff was very friendly but the food (and even the wine) took a very long time to come out, and the neighboring table who spoke French better than any of us even had a word with our server because we had just the wine when the table next to us who had arrived later had gotten their mains already. Things worked smoother once we decided to be firm and remind the server of our presence. The food was excellent though. We had the escargots as an entree and they were fantastic. I had the "salade Yvan" which comes with delicious foie gras and I would recommend it, and we had the chocolate tart with strawberries for dessert. The place wasn't expensive either, so definitely go and sit on the terrace, but beware that you might have to make your presence known if you're not a French speaker.

“Easy access, great location, excellent food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2014

Great recommendation for "typical" local restaurant. Tried the recommended local specialties; all were delicious but the Beef Bourguignon was my favourite. Great outdoor eating space. Felt like the service was very good from the staff. Loved it.
