We aimed to Stephane Derbord without a reservation but we were turned down as it was booked out. La Dame d'Aquitaine was second on our list. We hesitated going in as the day was sunny and warm and this place is in a cellar without much natural light. The place looked chic but slighly cold in terms of atmosphere. Service was good and friendly but that's probably the highest point in this experience.
The plates defiled one after the other bland, without much taste. An effort was done on the plate decoration but that's it. We asked that the dessert would be replaced by the cheese trolley that we would expect such a place to offer, as we're not such a sweet tooth. But our wish was put down and we were told that cheese was part of the menu. What the waiter meant was 2 warm balls of liquid cheese inside and a crust outside, served with salad (after the main!!!).
We paid 120 EUR for two people, which we found overpriced for what we actually got.
