“Dont stay in Room 1”

We were booked in for 2 nights at this hotel. On arrival the experience was quite good and the staff seemed helpful. We were shown to our room and IMMEDIATELY noticed a really bad smell, we commented to the lady on reception and she said she would spray around some deodoriser, so we left and went exploring Beaune...that was our mistake, as when we returned the room was no better and we had a terrible nights sleep because it was so bad and we couldnt switch rooms as they were full. We complained the next morning and we were moved to a new room which was much better..However, I did notice that afternoon another poor couple were given room 1, I cant see how they could have fixed that smell (like a really bad & dirty drain pipe) that quickly...

This was our best hotel so far, after staying in three other hotels in burgandy. I think this hotel has a few building extension and each will give you different kinds of room. The one I stayed in is near to a crepe restaurant and seems to be fairly new, in terms of renovation. We stayed in the "attic" room. It has three beds, very spacious and wonderful wooden beams across the room, just like an attic. It should cost a little more than the average room but is totally worth it! Breakfast was good and the customer service here is great! Love how everyone is so friendly here... thumbs up!

Room Tip: Choose the "attic" room, it is the highest room in the hotel and pretty spacious. Travel l...

Each year and now for the 4th time in returning home from the Lubéron, we spent a night in this hotel in Beaune.
We found it in 2009 after a number of other experiences and from then we stop there every year. The staff is friendly and helpful.
It is very well located a few minutes walking from the center. It is relatively small and privately owned. The rooms have been nicely renovated, have air conditioning and wifi and are very well isolated. It also has a private parking.
They only serve breakfast, but the management assists the guest to find and reserve a good restaurant within walking distance from the hotel.

Room Tip: We slept in different rooms and have no preference.

We booked a double room with a balcony. The room itself was fully renovated and nicely decorated. The bed was a bit saggy but the shower was great. The balcony faced the car park. The breakfast was okay. The staff were pleasant. Overall It was a nice hotel.

I've now stayed here twice and have enjoyed it each time. The rooms were well renovated (I think the photos other people have posted for the hotel seem very outdated), modern, comfortable, excellent airconditioning. The last time we stayed we were up under the roof and there is no lift for the suitcases to go up in but the receptionist offered to carry mine up - and who am I to object!. There is a lovely room set up for people with disabilities on the ground floor as I stayed in this on my first visit. A very easy stroll into a historic town full of great restaurants and architecture. The Saturday market is also well worth a visit.

Room Tip: If you don't like stairs get a room on the ground floor as there is no lift.

We arrived at the hotel for a 4 night stay. there was nobody at reception on arrival. We shouted for staff and looked around for a staff memeber. All of this time there were leaving guests suit cases and room keys available to be taken. After a good 10 mins a flustered female recieptionist appearded and checked us in. I had booked a parking place an she told me i could use the public car park. This was later corrected. At no point during our stay were we told where the hotel restaraunt and bar were, its a 60 mtr walk from the main hotel. The room was clean and comforable but dark and depressing. The location is ok with the main town a short walk away. The food in the town is poor at best, desigend for the tourist and in the main its chips with something as they know you will probably only eat there once. The wine trail is good although the wine in Beaune is expensive for the tourist so buy in the supermarket or direct from the producer. if you know France Beaune is not that that special and can be seen in 2 day's and then move on. The best thing about this hotel was leaving it.

Room Tip: Get another hotel.

We only intended to stay one night but ended up staying four. All four were spent in the main hotel which looks as the web site shows - recently updated, clean rooms with numerous amenities including motorized window shades for the large windows. The older gentleman at the desk seemed indifferent at first but was actually very accommodating. The first two nights were spent in a 2nd floor standard double room with a shower looking down on the main street. We just happened to be there when they were repaving the road so there was construction noise in the morning but it was quiet during the night.
When we decided to extend our stay for 2 more nights, the room we were in was booked so the gentlemen moved us to superior double room, gave us a discount, and had our baggage moved for us. This room was on the 1st floor near the courtyard and breakfast room. The highlight of this room was the large bathroom with a luxurious tub (no shower). As with most hotels in France, if you want a standup shower make sure you get a room with a "douche". This room was a bit dark as it only had a single window looking onto the courtyard.
The location is fantastic - everything is right outside the front door by but the hotel is set away from main hustle and bustle. The breakfast, a decent standard French continental breakfast, was a little pricey and with the easy access to boulangeries and cafes you would probably do better eating out.

Room Tip: From reading other reviews it sounds like you want a room in the main hotel
