“Not a good idea !”

This hotel is too old, it is too expansive for a room without really modern comfort. The bathroom is too little, plumbing needs refection. There is no parking, and it is very difficult to find a free place for your car . The hotel is stuck between two roads very noisy. There is much better place to stay, and less expansive than that.

Hotel Des Remparts in Beaune is a charming comfortable place to stay. Their overstuffed furniture in their lobby and warm wood decor are welcoming. The courtyard is just a wonderful place to relax and read or check on emails. We even had a meal out there which we got to go at a local restaurant! The breakfast is a bit thin, but adequate, and the host and hostess friendly enough. We went on a wine country tour arranged for by the front desk which turned out to be my family's favorite of this extended trip to Europe! The 6 of us had two rooms and we were comfortable. Would definitely go back!

Hotel des Remparts is a jewel of a find. The owner took each person to their individual room. The location is great and our room was very spacious. The courtyard area was great to relax after a long day and the breakfast was sumptous. I felt like I was in a castle staying at this hotel. I highly recommend Hotel des Remparts.

Friendly and helpful owners and staff, excellent location for exploring Beaune and surrounding area. Street parking only for one hour but the hotel can provide a pass (on payment) for a nearby secure parking complex. Breakfast traditional French continental type and quite expensive for 10 euro per person as consisted of a piece of dry bread one croissant each, some dry biscuits some jam and butter and a yoghurt, good hot tea and coffee. Very quiet location but access to upstairs rooms quite difficult and dark as it's a very old building. Nearby restaurants very expensive or alteratively local brasseries with run of the mill burgers, omlettes, steaks with chips and salad, nothing different from the UK. Our room had a very modern bathroom and the beds were comfortable, difficult to find any other channels other than French on the TV.

Room Tip: Reception staff recommended room numbers 20,17,15 and 118 as the best !

This place has French charm in spades. The proprieter and staff are old-school and quite quirky. Rooms are nice, location good and our view had a lovely view of the courtyard. The courtyard is a good place for an aperitif, which they offer. The breakfast is a bit on the meager side, but served with panache, so all is forgiven.

The Hotel des Ramparts was warm, welcoming and a perfect choice for our trip in Beaune, France. We were directed to this hotel as part of a bike trip we were taking with 3 other couples in the Burgundy region of France and we were not disappointed. The location on a quiet street was perfectly situated to explore the town, nearby shops and restaurants. The rooms were historic, charming, spacious by USA standards and comfortable, with updated bathrooms. This is not your generic, all rooms are the same, hotel. Part of the fun was visiting the other couple’s rooms to see their layout and personality. All of our rooms faced the courtyard which provided a perfect gathering place for our group to sit, converse and sip French wine. An added advantage was a bike rack within the confines of the courtyard and secure off site parking (for a nominal charge) which we arranged prior to arriving. The hotel is family owned and operated and you can tell. They were warm, friendly, helpful and made their guests a priority. The hot water heater for some of the rooms broke while we were there and the problem was addressed immediately. We will definitely add this to our places to return on our next trip to France.

We loved this hotel and the feeling it brought to our France experience with the atmosphere of the courtyard and rooms. The rooms were charming and each one was different with an unexpected twist. A nice surprise was the bathrooms were modern and nicely updated. Both courtyards were beautiful and invited us to enjoy our wine outside nightly. The staff was more than helpful and accommodated every possible need. By the time we left the owners had become quite a part of our family and we felt as if we were leaving relatives. The location was very convenient to the quaint town with plenty of restaurants, shops and cafes. We will return to this hotel and plan a few extra days being one of our favorites.
