When we travel to France, we purchase wine and mustard, so this place was a must see! Well worth the time and entry fee as we learned more about mustard than we ever thought possible. Accommodation was made for English speakers by a personable guide. One room with machines geared to the headphone system was a little boring, but you could skip some of the items and rest in the next room. Tasting with mini tidbits was a bonus. Avoid purchasing too much in the shop as you can find the same items in Carrefour for a lot less.

We took this tour on a rainy and cool day on very short notice (we got the last two spots in a tour). But we would recommend a visit under any circumstances. The tour was informative and interesting, very professionally organized, yet with a personal touch. If you are in Beaune, put it on your schedule (but plan ahead, group size is limited).
The only "negative" aspect: you get two mini-jars of mustard at the end. But you certainly will want to buy one or more (or even more!) flavors. The sales personnel in the shop is very helpful but the wait at the cash register may be quite long (but worth it).

An hour sounds like a long time to spend on a tour of a mustard factory. Well... it's fascinating, because you learn all about Fallot mustard and its history... and still don't get to see the actual factory. But... that's all that's missing, because you get to make some yourself... grinding the mustard seeds with vinegar and salt. Voila! Mustard. There are plenty of displays that cover the history of mustard and Fallot.

The tour is in French and English.

Then you get to sample... amuse bouche of cookies, small tomatoes, carrots, chicken terrine and jambon in jelly... with various flavored mustards. And they give you sample sizes of Dijon and grainy mustards. Plus there is a great shop for souvenirs.

Friendly welcome. Excellent visit, well organised, informative and interactive. History and production methods well explained, both in English and in French. Might be better if the first film were projected on to a screen, rather than the wall, which makes viewing somewhat difficult. Fun to try one's hand at making mustard and to sample different flavours. Well worth a visit.

We have used Fallot as our preferred mustard at home in California for years when available. The tour of the factory was very interesting and informative. You get to grind mustard seeds and make your own mustard. There is tasting of many kinds of mustard and a few pairings with food (not a meal, but good). The tour is in English and French. We reserved online easily. On arrival, it was not clear if we needed to get a paper ticket from the cashier (we did not). We had a little trouble finding it, thinking it would be a giant building extensively signed. We should have just looked for the mustard colored storefront and paid attention to the address! If you like mustard, this is the place for you.
