We visited La Terre d'Or with another couple and our four children (this was our 2nd visit to Beaune.) We rented the les Pins cottage for two nights and could not have been happier. Jean Louis and his son Vincent were delightful and helped us with our every need, including arranging dinner reservations on both nights of our stay. They came out in the rain to hug us goodbye and even gave us a flower as a thank you for our visit. The property is beautiful and sits up on the hill amongst the vines...the view of Beaune was amazing (see pics.)

Our cottage (les Pins) was beautiful, and we really enjoyed our breakfast on the terrace. We decided to do the wine tasting with Jean Louis, and it was worth every euro! He and his family have spent an extensive amount of time excavating the cave underneath the house, and it is beautiful. We loved his passion for the wine and learned quite a bit. All in all, I would recommend this place to anyone...couples, families with children, etc. Be warned, though, that you might find a spider or two in the cottage (it is quite old.) It was not a problem for us. Also, though I think some people have commented that the breakfast was a bit paltry for the price, we found it to be quite acceptable and typical for places we have stayed in Europe (and the croissants were heavenly.)

Though I use TripAdvisor extensively, this is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review. I highly recommend this place!

This a great b&b with a wonderful view of Beaune. Jean Louis was a great host with some excellent tips to enjoy Burgundy. Jean Louis was also very generous to upgrade us to one of the best rooms in the house. We also enjoyed playing his grand piano. Would love to come back with a group of friends and rent the whole house.

Totally blown away by this charming place. 3 of us stayed here in early Oct for a night over the weekend. Our main purpose was to taste good bourgogne wine & food & initially planned to stay in Dijon. But due to some event going on in Dijon & our choice of hotels running out of rooms, we decided to stay in Beaune instead. And we were so glad we did!
Beaune is a beautiful, small town and the Hotel is located abt 20mins (on foot) from the town centre. Its surrounded by lush vineyards, Beautiful! And Jean-Louis is the star host! =)
We stayed at the main house and there wasnt anyone else staying there at the time so the Jean-Louis showed us all the various rooms in that house. They are all so charming & clean. The room we stayed in upstairs accommodated 3 of us very comfortably. Everything was so neat, tidy, clean & well kept. The room was very well lit and sun light was streaming in.. felt so comfortable I had a quick nap that afternoon (we only arrived in Paris that morning mind you!). Then we decided to walk to town in the late afternoon. Took us 20 leisurely minutes, past the vineyards.. beautiful & really, in my opinion, not to be missed! Jean-Louis also knows all the restaurants in town so his recommendations were great! We ate at Le Conti that evening. We also had lunch at Le Petit Paradis earlier, at his recommendation, and its a great little restaurant with excellent food. Also, it was very easy to have the restaurant call us a cab for ride back to the hotel.
Next day, we woke to a wonderful breakfast in the sunlit living room. I did hear some rearrangement of furniture but it wasnt too loud or anything so I wasnt bothered at all. I also read some of the other reviews abt the breakfast being an issue. But I personally felt it was really yummy & gladly paid for it. Esp the jam! Which was home-made from fruits in the garden.. We also opted for a tour of the area with Jean-Louis. EUR55 per hour for a personalised tour and we chose to have a 2hr tour in the morning & 2hr in the afternoon after lunch. Jean-Louis is very knowledgeable abt the region's wine & so generous with it. We really had a fantastic time as he shared a bit of his passion, brought us to view some of the famous vineyards and wine-tasting at the caveaux. We really appreciated having him with us to guide us around and i really prefer this to some larger, impersonal tour in a tour bus type of thing. After the 2nd tour, he dropped us off in Dijon for our train ride back. We had an excellent time & will definitely come back to spend more time in this region, and of course, stay here again! =)

Our recent 6-night stay at la Terre d'Or couldn't have been more perfect! My husband and I stayed in Les Aubepines and our 3 daughters stayed in Les Campanules. The rooms are lovely, clean and quiet with great bathrooms, and the air conditioning works really well!

Each morning we were greeted by friendly, charming Jean Louis who serves a fabulous breakfast on the terrace overlooking the pool, vineyards and the town of Beaune. The view was breathtking, and the service was impeccable.

Jean Louis spends lots of time giving his guests helpful information regarding sightseeing, wine tastings, routes to take, and restaurant recommendations. This personal attention sets his guesthouse apart - he made our stay very, very special. We hope to return again and again to this beautiful place.

I can't say enough about the warm welcome we received from Jean-Louis and Christine during our 6 night stay in Beaune. They strive for excellence in customer service and achieve this in admirable fashion. Jean-Louis is passionate about Burgundy and sharing his information of the area - this gift of knowledge allowed us to experience the area with local insider information resulting in a more enhanced vacation experience. We dined at 4 recommended restaurants that we never would have found on our own - all offering excellent value. Jean Louis was kind enough to drive us into Beaune to pick up our rental car and was always available to answer any questions or engage in conversation and French lessons!

The setting is idyllic - high above Beaune with a beautiful view of the vineyards but very quiet and peaceful. Christine cares for the garden and it comes alive with birds and butterflys under her masterful touch. The pool was inviting after a long day of sightseeing. The location is extremely convenient and within 5 minutes by car to Beaune or a lovely walk through the vineyard road. We hope to return one day and will definitely choose La Terre d'Or again.
