Quiet atmosphere, simple decor, pleasant service. A very original menu with emphasis on organic ingredients and local produce. Quite delicious. Certainly not a cheap night out, but prices seem reasonable for the quality : I was dining alone and for a starter, main course, two glasses of wine, and a coffee the bottom line was around 50 euros.

Those who want traditional, heavy Burgundian dishes should stay away. Organic dishes with their source noted are prepared with a light hand: Girolles were cooked in a light broth without the usual heavy hand of butter, cream and garlic and with a creative use of flowers and herbs. The entrees were equally creative. The organic wine list is impressive with prices not bad relative to other Beaune restaurants. Service was a bit slow because the owner is the sole server, but we ordered a bottle of Chambolle Musigny and enjoyed ourselves.

Having spent all day in the beautiful old town of Beaune we found this particular restaurant just 5 min. walking distance away.
To be honest, we were recommended by our Swiss friends to have a dinner there.
We have tried the Promenade en Bourgogne set (incl. 5 local specialties) from Chef Pepita Grocat for a very reasonable price (35 EUR) and were more than satisfied with it. Richard Grocat has offered a fantastic choice of bio vine and we had a couple of bottles. It was a complicated task to choose a right one among tens of pages but we trusted Richard and did not regret it!
The only thing we were disappointed in was the absence of an air conditioner but the delicious food helped us go through :-)

Food and wine list were very good. What amazed us was the innovations they had.
Asparagus tagliatelle , we expected noodles with asparagus, infact, the " noodles" were large white asparagus shaved on a mandolin to look exactly like tagliatelle, flavor was unbelievable, assuming y our like white asparagus! The rest of the meal was just the same. Definitely worth a visit.

We had lunch at the Comptoir de Tonton. Glad we had eserved ahead, the place was packed. We choose for the menu suggestion from the chef, which was 5 small to medium size courses ranging from escargots to cheese cake made with L'Ami de Chambertin, the very best boeuf bourguinnone I ever tatsed, a croustillant with Chaource and a very nice desert.
All the courses were great. Definitely it is the biodynamic ingredients used, it must also be the chef (who is the owners wife and she gives a bit of a southern European touch to the terroir food), but the Comptoir de TonTon is very recommendable. The wine list is long, although some wines on the list are sold out, which is not indicated on the list. But no complaint, there are plenty other choices.
