“Known for intricate stained windows”
Reviewed October 5, 2013 via mobile

Beautiful cathedral with huge red doors that open up to a cathedral that took three centuries to build and was completed in 1560. It's known for its 13th century intricate stained glass windows which were amazing. The stone carvings on the outside are something else. If you are in the area you must come see it. This city is quite nice but lots of construction going on. Make sure you go by the Yvonne River - lovely area and picturesque as well.

“Very beautiful cathedral”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

The cathedral has only recently been renovated and it shows as all the stonework and beautiful stained glass windows are glowing. It is actually delightful to see a cathedral in France which is not run down and which gives some idea of the splendour of these amazing buildings when they were newly built. Actually, we found all three major churches in Auxerre in superb condition, with evidence of recent renovations in all.

“Beautiful but not exceptional”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

We stopped for lunch in Auxerre and used the opportunity to visit the cathedral. It was beautiful, but does not warrant a detour, as there are many more impressive ones in Bourgogne.

“Nice cathedral, nothing out of the ordinary”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

We might have been a bit tired of churches and cathedrals, but didn't find this to be any prettier or more impressive than most out there. Still, worth a visit if you're in the neighbourhood.
