“Charming hotel (minuses location and price)”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for one night. We had received a smart box including free one night accommodation and breakfast at a variety of hotels in France, out of which only two were in Brittany.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable with a most lovely decor. The atmosphere was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

It has a nice location close to the beach but far from old town center. Also it was a little expensive for us compared to other hotels with better location, for example in the old town center. For the second night we had to move to another hotel, less expensive, maybe less charming but inside the walls of the towrn center.

I think it is a good hotel for long stays (if you afford the price), but for short trips as ours we needed a more central hotel.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious. The dinning room is extremely charming and it also has an outside terrace.

Recommend it.

Night stopped at this wonderful hotel.
Easy to find, 100m from the beach.Has been given 2 stars but would rate higher. Very helpful staff, very clean and beautifully decorated room. Basic but very good.
Great resteaurants near by - staff recommended ones that were child friendly and the food was fantastic. Good continental breafast the next day. They also have secure parking if you wish to pay, as well as on street parking in the area.

We spent a long holiday weekend in this family-run hotel, just a bit outside the old town of Saint-Malo. We were 3 (2 adults and a teen) in a large ground-floor room; it was a bit bare bones, but immaculate, and comfortable. The breakfast in the spacious dining room was copious, and good, the service over-all was excellent. We parked easily, and for free, on the nearby streets. The walk along the beach to the old walled town is about 30 minutes, with beautiful views all along. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice small hotel some distance from town centre but lovely walk along the seafront about 3km but easily done in 30-45 mins and sea views are wonderful so seems like 10 minutes. St Malo was a lovely surprise and a great stop en route to the Loire Valley. Definitely recommended .. Thankyou !

After stupidly arriving for our ferry home 24hrs early I quickly went online to book a hotel, just a nice cheap hotel for one night. We struck gold with this one! It was billed as a 2 star hotel but our room was immaculate, the en-suite bathroom had a shower and hairdryer and lovely soft towels, there was free parking on the street outside, free wi-fi and one of the friendliest receptionists I've ever encountered, basically much better than a 2 star hotel has any right to be. We were given great advice on a local restaurant and pub, a generous glass of red from the bar and a stack of magazines to linger over. I'd stay here again in an instant and am actually pleased we were so early for the ferry as we had a great 24hrs in this town we usually just pass through!

Room Tip: No restaurant but the bar is open until 9pm

Lovely friendly hotel, clean large family room double with door dividing 3single beds .plenty of free parking! Speak English. Handy for ferry and beach and walled city. Free wifi. We didn't eat breakfast but breakfast area is available. We would definitely visit again , we only stayed overnight but would be happy to stay longer.

We chose to stay at the Eden for a third time because of the location to the beach. But in addition to this we have always been made welcome, the rooms are clean, breakfast is good, and there is off road parking. Our two pet poodles are also welcomed.

This time we emailed Caroline the owner and booked direct, we asked for the same room as before , number 24, this is a ground floor room, we were told that there had been some refurbishment and a terrace and planting had been added. We were not disappointed the bathroom had been updated and has a fantastic shower which is powerful and has a relaxing colour changing light. The shower has also a hand held facility as well as the overhead one which is very powerful and plenty of hot water. Hair dryer included in the bathroom. The bathroom was lacking a toilet roll holder and soap dish ( the new basin is a curved design), a hook would also be handy to hang a washbag on. Having said that the owners have made a lovely job.

Towels changed daily and room kept clean. Friendly staff and a pleasure to stay.

The terraced area and the vegetation planted has had a lot of thought put into it and has been very well carried out.

When we visit Rochbonne it will be this small but very charming hotel we choose. Our thanks to Caroline and her staff for an enjoyable four day stay.

Room Tip: Book direct with the hotel. Short drive to Sait Malo for dinner and we recommend Lion D,or. Free...
