Within the walls and close to the main areas for wining and dining. Near to a car park and the beach. Two excellent pubs within about 50 metres - The Alchimiste and St Patrick.
Good breakfast room and plenty to eat - continental style.
Rooms are average but functional

Stayed there from June 1st thru June 3rd 2013.Very conveniently located in the old walled city (Intramuros). Rooms are small but clean and functional. Friendly staff. Breakfast was 8 Euros a person and included Croissants, Baguettes, Bread, Juice, Coffee and Yogurt. Computers in lobby with free internet access. Rooms do not have phones but a wake call is a personalized knock on the door.
Excellent value for money and perfect location in the walled city to explore St. Malo. Would stay there again if in St. Malo.

The hotel was chosen for its convenience, being central within the 'intra muros' old part of Saint-Malo and was a solid choice. We were one part of a stag party and the separate annexe was perhaps a good idea in hindsight. Clean, with some character, the price of 67 Euros was not bad, although out of season this call fall to 40 euros per night. Would use again.

We stayed for one night in this hotel in a room across the stree from the main hotel. The room was on the third floor, up very dark and shabby stair cases and there was no evidence of any kind of fire drill or fire exit - a little worrying. The sheets were clean but the bed cover shabby. the shower was cracked and the grouting black. The room was extremely basic and very noisy when the windows were open. It was fine with the windows shut however, We used the garage, which was a godsend, but an adventure in itself to get to. A very nice young member of staff had to move another car out of the way before we could leave. Other staff were helpful but not especially friendly. I would take the time to research and book ahead before my next visit to St Malo and would not book into this hotel again. it's a relic from a bygone era of mediocre, tired hotels and thankfully is not typical.

Lots of varying reviews for this one, but at the end of the day it is an old 2 star in a very old building, in a very old but beautiful city.

There are better hotels in what might be called "the new town", there are also better hotels within this ancient walled city, but they are more expensive. This is also very centrally situated even within the tight confines of the walled city.

I have stayed three times in three different rooms and they all vary. None are luxurious, one was a little shabby, but you can't knock the location.

they have a garage which will take four cars - which is very, very handy here (if you can manage the narrow alleyways) but you need to reserve a place.

Breakfast is basic and for 6 euros you will get something far better in any number of cafes around the environs.

WiFi is best when in the reception/restaurant/bar area.

Can be a bit noisy at night but cobbles, plus late night street cleaners and bin-men cause this, and no doubt even the best old city hotels will suffer this.

Second time staying in this hotel. Location is within the walls of St Malo. Clean, comfortable, economical. Hotel staff were friendly, and even provided coffee and tea at around midnight in the lounge/lobby area.

A small outdates hotel, not so clean, not so friendly.
The location is good but that's all about it.
Really better choose another one.
