We always try and visit this lovely salon de the in St.Malo, and had the choice of a number of tables.
A party of 6 or so arrived just in front of us, and they seemed to be very demanding, to the extent that we were almost overlooked.....
This was only resolved when I walked around to the counter.... and the staff were mortified!!!
We enjoyed our tea and the fine tarte aux framboise brulee.... I did notice though that the milk jug had seen better days, (it was badly chipped) and simply only fit for the bin.
The Bergamote is top end, with fairly high prices (well for British visitors, anyway!) and a great experience, they just need to keep on top of their game.

It's so good, we kept coming back! The crepes are really fantastic: handmade with fresh ingredients and incredibly tasty (try with a cup of Breton cider). The cakes were also very good. The service was friendly and the setting excellent.

We really did want to try some of the other creperies in town ... but somehow we always ended up calling by for just one more crepe, yum.

We had a little trouble finding this place but it was so worth the effort. The best crepes (by some margin) we had during our week in Brittany. The desserts we also really, really good. Excellent!

The owners of the B&B at which we were staying recommended this place. It is very cozy and the service is attentive, although borderline pretentious. We believe this is because they are so busy - obviously, the formula works so why would they change it? We arrived right at lunchtime and were informed there was no table available before 2:00 PM. Did we want to reserve? We decided to go with this option although we were hungre since the place was so cozy, it was cold and rainy outside, and our host had recommended it. It is also open in the middle of the afternoon, which is not typical in this area. When we returned, our table was not ready. The Maitre d' was very apologetic and invited us to take a seat near the cash to wait for our table. He returned 5 minutes later to apologise again, saying it would not be long. This time he came bearing menus for us to look at while waiting. A few minutes later he returned and apologised again, asking if we would like some complimentary cider while we waited. He returned with bowls of cider and some amuse bouche, both very nice touches.

The meal itself was fresh and delicious. Leave room for dessert as they are fabulous. Lots of lovely teas, well-prepared and properly served (well, after all, it's a tea house). As many other reviewers pointed out, it is on the expensive side, but the quality is high. We felt the price was fair, given the quality and service. On the other hand, the complimentary bowls of cider really influenced out impression of the place. Obviously, management here understands how to manage expectations. Our table was late and they managed it with grace. Well done. Definitely would return.
