We stopped to have a drink with friends. The hotel has a rooftop bar and restaurant. The bar is nice size and the drinks were made well. The view is ok. You mostly notice the roofs of the surrounding buildings. It is nice to be outside and have a cocktail. After we had dinner at the restaurant. They serve savory and sweet crepes. The waiter was attentive and spoke English. We started with their fish soup which was delicious. It is served with grated cheese and croutons. Then followed with a savory crepe. The jambon, potato and cheese and heaven. The view was amazing looking out to the water.

Dear Rose H,
Many thanks for the wonderful review of our site!
We are delighted you enjoyed our rooftop bar with the 360° view on Saint Malo's finest beach. We also appreciated the nice comments on our delicious galettes and fish soups, as well as the great sea view you have when sitting in our dining restaurant. We will definitely share it within the team.
We look forward to welcoming you back!
Kind regards,

The room (401) would not doubt win the price of the smallest and most cramped hotel room around: bed too small for a tall man (probably 1.90), impossibility to open the suitcase AND walk around the bed, cupboard broken (door fell on me), worn walls although just redecorated because you bang against everything, no products available beside shower gel (they were out of stock, although a guest toothbrush we had asked for miraculously appeared the next morning). They obviously keep it for booking.com. However, they agreed to give us another slightly bigger room (403). Otherwise, fantastic location directly by the sea, changing breathtaking views, very goo breakfast in their wonderful dining room by the sea. The breakfast staff is terribly slow and inefficient though. The price is to high for this level of services.

Beautifully located right on the seafront and walking distance to the main town.
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
Room was a little cosy but that’s too be expected in a traditional hotel but the view, location and staff more than made up for it.

We stayed here two nights in early February and it was simply delightful! The rooms were very comfortable and clean . A very pleasant walk along the beach to old St Malo - so much fun to explore. The restaurant crepes were delicious, and the staff were very helpful.
Saint Malo was one of my highlights in my trip to France and Ambassadeurs was a perfect place to stay.

After opening the door to our room, it was a bit of a shock. Small is definitely the word du jour!. But this is a european hotel after all. Once we figured out where to put our clothes, and opened the door to ocean, our level of comfort gradually increased with the rise of the tides.
Bed/Bathroom all all top notch. But there is no bar fridge which would have been extremely helpful. Not everyone wants to eat out every meal...particularly when you have a sea view!
It's about a ten minute walk to the old town, which when you first do it seems far. But after having a meal, walking the sea wall back is really nice. This is one of the first hotels after the main walk along the promenade. So relatively close all things considered.
You also have a great roof top patio.

Room tip: Sea view is excellent. Waves crashing against the wall can be quite loud though at high tide.
