Great location, Close to city-centre, transportation and relatively quiet neighbourhood (I use ear plugs when I have a room facing the street. If you have a room facing the backyard, this is not necessary). Hospitable staff, comfortable beds, clean rooms and nice amenities. Tasty breakfast! I A highly recommended hotel!

This place is quite fantastic, right in walking distance of the opera house and "downtown historic" area of Rennes, it does not seem like much from the outside but inside is a very relaxing and pretty lobby. As part of our reservation we had an hour in the pool area which is capped at 6 people per hour and has a pool, jacuzzi and steam room as well as a refreshment table. Since my party had three people it felt almost like having the place to ourselves! Everyone agreed it was the best part of the hotel. The rooms are nicely laid out and with big windows (deluxe room with queen bed) I would definitely stay here again. (Side note, thai restaurant almost right across the street is really good!)

This is a lovely hotel. Excellent location. Good staff. I agree with Worldtraveler9 about the bathroom. Whoever persuaded the upscale hotels to install showers that require a PhD to operate, have no shelves or places to hang things and “open concept” bathrooms should be locked up. Hip looking. Frustrating to use. Same comments re slow knock you off internet. But who’s in the room that long? I would definitely stay again. Now that I have my bathroom master’s degree.

Comfortable rooms, quiet and tranquil rooms in the centre of Rennes, and accommodating, welcoming staff made our stay at the Saint-Antoine most enjoyable. The spa package offered through Booking.com was a real treat, and the reception was extremely diligent in booking us into the tight schedule in advance.

A highlight of this hotel is definitely the friendly and accommodating staff. No request was too big or too small. The location is very convenient to the train and bus station, as we made Rennes our base to explore surrounding towns including St. Malo, Dinard, Dinan, Fougeres, Vitre, and Auray. The room itself left a bit to be desired. The WC was in a separate little room off of the entry hall. The sink was in another room next to the bed. The sink was very inconvenient, about three feet wide and two inches deep, leaving no space for toiletries. The distance between the water spigot and the bottom of the sink was only three inches, making it very difficult to wash hands thoroughly. There was no washcloth, either. Needless to say, we did not consume any meals at the hotel.
It was nice to have a refrigerator in the room, right next to the bathroom, but it was filled with junk food with no space for healthy snacks. There was also a Nescafe machine which we didn't use. The bed was large, but hard (not memory foam).
The Internet was slow and disconnects after the world's shortest time-out, making it necessary to log in again, and again, and again. I still remember the password.
Be sure to look out your window at sunset. A huge swarm of birds creates living sculptures in the sky around the hotel before settling into the nearby trees for the night. Quite a sight to see.
It would have been nice to have a place to put our suitcases, other than on the floor.
In short, our small three-star hotel in Paris was more comfortable than this "four star" hotel, although the staff was just as nice.
