Fine, but swimming pool wasn't available and the jacuzzi wasn't working properly - which was the main reason why we booked this more expensive hotel. Unable to access internet. Good location and close to the metro.

Good quality hotel and an excellent location. The station is only a few minutes walk away and the old town an easy ten minute stroll. The room was very comfy with a great shower and being on the top floor very quiet. My only gripe was that the wifi was a bit unreliable and dropped out quite a bit. Also for English speakers there's very little choice in channels on the TV - just two news channels. Other than that a very nice stay with friendly helpful staff.

Room tip: Top floor rooms at the back are very quiet

Visit no 1: We came for a drink on a Saturday night. The entire bar and restaurant area were strangely completely empty. At first we thought that would be a good thing as we would have the entire area to ourselves. The waiter saw us but totally ignored us and kept on setting tables. After quite a while sitting unable to order, even without a menu I walked to the reception to ask if there is a waiter around, as I thought that person was not supposed to be taking orders, but they pointed me to that same person who kept on carrying on with setting tables at an empty restaurant without guests or any guesting coming anytime soon as it was quite late. Finally he came and reluctantly took an order for two wines which were really mediocre and brought with the oldest set of nut assortments that they had no shame to serve to customers.
Visit no 2: Once again we came on a Saturday evening, to give the place a second chance, this time while entertaining family that came from abroad. Similarly the bar and restaurant area were empty again. We were optimistic as we felt that a well known hotel would keep some level of quality and that our last visit might had been just bad luck. After some prolonged delay the waiter took our order for 2 Spritz, a mohito and a wine. In what appeared to be a combination of ignorance and panic on his face he proceeded to the bar where he begun his attempt at making the cocktails. Far from obviously he had never made a cocktail before and it took him well over 20 minutes to mix them! He kept on pausing, trying to find what to do, which ingredients to add, thinking, adding, looking. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a book behind the counter on how to mix basic cocktails. After a considerable amount of time he then took our prepared drinks, passed us and disappeared to the back of the restaurant only to return later with what seemed to be the worst attempt at making cocktails in history. A not-recently opened wine, two spritz with a tiny bit of aperol and almost no sparkling wine, no slice of orange of course and a mohito without rum, mostly resembling like a water solution with a small tree of leaves inside that occupied 80% of the glass. We had to go to the bar and ask for the spritz to have some more aperol added to it to become at the least drinkable. He seemed unimpressed to that fact. Upon payment (pricey) we indicated that the mohito - which we hardly touched - was not proper, only to.. be talked back at (!) with an attitude "What is a mohito for you" (any decent waiter would at least ask why we did not touch it but he ignored that fact, not even offering something in return). Unacceptable and rude behaviour. Shame for the hotel brand to hire such people that ridicule their business. We felt not welcome, cheated and very embarrassed to our guests. Seems that it is no coincidence that the place is always empty after all. Stay clear of their bar. Plenty of nice bars and restaurants around that know how to carry on business professionally. We won't be stepping in there again.

This hotel is in a great location if you plan on arriving or departing by train. I did not feel particularly safe in this area at night as a solo traveler. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was a little small but definitely an ok size for a couple of nights.

The hotel is a five minute walk from the main train station. The hotel is another ten minutes from the historic area of Rennes including the better shops. The hotel rooms are adequate. We had a room overlooking the parking lot and were bothered by people smoking and talking on their cell phones. The hotel pool is a tease, although it has jets to enable swimming laps; you are required to wear a bathing cap!! Some rooms require stairs to access them. While there was a wide variety of items on breakfast buffet, there it was not comparable to a luxury hotel. I would select another hotel if in Rennes again.

Room tip: Ask for wash clothes for the bathroom and extra hangars.
