We had 24 hours in Rennes and found this restaurant when looking around the lovely Old Town. It's in an attractive old timbered building and there is an open wood fired oven inside they use for grills. It would be very cosy and warm in there in the winter or a chillly evening during the summer. As it was quite warm we chose to sit outside in the pedestrianised street which was very pleasant. The service was swift and efficient. Set menus were available but we only wanted a main course as we wanted to continue our sightseeing. I chose the St Pierre Crumble (which is a flat fish cooked in a crumble with a delicate sauce). It was delicious. My partner chose Pintard (guinea fowl) although when it came the waiter called it 'poulet' and in fact it did look and taste more like chicken than the more 'gamey' guinea fowl. We should have queried it but we were in a hurry and my partner was quite satisfied with it in any case as it was nicely presented. The prices of the main courses were all about 13 or 14 euros which is quite reasonable.
