Royal Emeraude Dinard - MGallery Collection
Ranked #4 of 22 Hotels in Dinard
Certificate of Excellence

I selected this hotel after studying several TripAdvisor reviews and was very pleased that I did. The location has to be one of the best in Dinard, though with limited views of the magnificent bay. The hotel is maintained to a very high standard both inside and out. The hotel styling is based on the early 20th century with each floor depicting a different theme, ground floor rooms reflect the Indian empire, the first is nautical, the second the rail carriages of the Orient Express and the third floor depicts early aviation. We had rooms on the ground and first floor and both were immaculately presented with very stylish furnishings and one of the best showers I have ever used. The rooms are a little small, but should not be a problem unless you have lots of luggage. The first floor room 101 was better with a view of the sea and quieter than the ground floor room adjacent to the road. There is no restaurant in the hotel but this is not a problem given Dinard has many excellent places to eat. The breakfast is served in very comfortable and attractive surroundings and offers a wide range of good quality drinks to justify the fairly high price. The staff were very friendly, helpful and competent in booking restaurants, car parking and providing other useful assistance. As mentioned in other reviews, be sure to pre-reserve car parking which is charged to your account as space is limited and parking in Dinard is not easy to find nearby. This hotel will appeal to travellers who appreciate tasteful styling and a feel of quality and attention to detail.

Room Tip: Higher floors will be quieter and some offer a limited sea view between other large buildings. Don...

Hotel is well located in the center next to the beach of Dinard.
Rooms are modern and designed in several styles: Titanic (1st level), etc.
There is a very stylish bar but no restaurant.
One point of attention is the limited availability of parking space; booking in adance can be helpful.
St. Malo is easily reachable by boat (boarding location is merely 5 minutes away from the hotel)

Room Tip: To book parking space when traveling by car, Some rooms have view on sea.

We booked into this hotel on the second night of our Brittany trip after looking at reviews and wanting somewhere not too far from St Malo. The staff were really really friendly, very helpful and couldn't have been nicer. We had to have two separate rooms to accommodate the family and they placed us in interconnecting rooms on the ground floor - each had a little terrace with loungers and a table but these were directly onto the road and felt a little enclosed due to the bamboo fencing used to shield the rooms from the pavement. The terraces were also semi-open to the other terraces from adjoining room. Having said that, it was extra space for our 5 year olds to be in.
The rooms were clean and perfectly acceptable though a little dark ( I think the ground floor was meant to be an African sort of theme). I felt a bit like we were subterranean and liking a lot of light was a bit disappointed with the rooms. I am sure that the first floor and above were much more the kind of thing we would have preferred. The location of the hotel was very good, just across the road from the beach. There was no restaurant in the hotel so we did have to do a last minute dash out to find something to bring back - not a lot on offer for a takeaway 0 but our fault really as we hadn't sort out dinner properly. Overall the hotel is a really good one - I think I just wasn't enjoying the ground floor bedrooms. Don't be put off at all - just ask for a room higher up if you like a lighter aspect!

Great experience with this hotel, which is in a lovely classical Dinard building, gutted and redone to a high standard not too long ago. We don’t usually like hotels in a chain like Accor, but this one has kept its individual character and is elegant without being pretentious. The welcome from the charming Caroline was unusually warm and helpful and staff really couldn’t do enough for you. The room was stylishly decorated, very comfortable and in perfect condition, if a little dark due to the sloping ceilings on the 3rd floor. It could use a full-length mirror, though. Great shower, excellent and ample storage space, comfortable bed. The breakfast room is lovely. You just sink into those easy chairs to enjoy a varied buffet with your chosen hot drink and freshly made orange juice to order. You could order eggs, although I’m not sure they really know what to do with a scrambled egg, but the breads were fresh and delicious. Wifi was strong and always worked, although the need to reenter the code each time you used it was a bit annoying. The location couldn’t be better—a block from the beach and also practically on top of the charming town streets and wonderful market. We would return here in a heartbeat.

We stayed 2 nights in this nice hotel, during our vacation of this year.
We arrived on Monday at 10pm, very late and we didn't have any dinner. They were very kind with us and called to the restaurant (2 blocks from the hotel to provide the booking).
Bathroom was ok, the shower was the best...really good like a spa.
Bedroom was small and quite dark (but well decorated), with nice quality of magazines too.
Breakfast was good, with fruits, yorguts (one of them I loved with glass not plastic), good quality of breads, etc..I liked the Orange juice and egg (they ask if you want and prepare for you).
Everytime, they were available, with smile in their faces, really open to helps us in any doubts we had.
My husband liked so much (people in the city and hotel) that he is thinking seriously to come back again in the future...

This is a good hotel. The room was nice and the bathroom was large. The shower was huge with a gigantic, centered shower head that made getting a shower a pleasure. Housekeeping was excellent. The hotel is just a few steps from the beach and there are many restaurants within walking distance. There are a number of shops also, although not a huge amount. The town is very manageable. When we arrived, the street was being torn up,( I believe this was a temporary situation for water or sewer replacement) so it made getting in difficult, but a staff member retreived our huge rental SUV and parked it for us.

The hotel does not have a restaurant, but just serves breakfast which was ok. The ladies who served were wonderful. The reception staff is really terrific and were most helpful and pleasant, and made many excellent restaurant recommendations, including Resto Oliver, which was super. We opted to stay in Dinard to avoid having to stay in St. Malo, with its small streets. It is about a six mile drive around to St. Malo (we took a taxi over) and took the very efficient passenger ferry from there back to Dinard. St. Malo looks like an apparition from Dinard. We drove down to Dinan, which was about 15 miles as I recall. Both places are very worthwhile seeing, although the weather was unseasonable.
