We were staying at La Grande Métairie Campsite and, as this was a 13 minute walk from the site (and the number one restaurant in Carnac), it was the perfect place to go for dinner.
The food was fantastic, with a lovely atmosphere and the staff were very patient with our two boys, even though our six year old dropped his fork about 8 times through the meal.
My only complaints were, that on arrival we were early and (even though the restaurant was almost empty) the manager showed his displeasure at this fact. The second was the children's menu. We had been in France for a week and as our eldest had had chicken and chips for almost every meal, he chose the Galette. Unfortunately he didn't like it and it turned out that the nuggets and chips were fantastic (the youngest chose this).
Apart from that the food, wine and service was lovely and I highly recommend the restaurant.
One final warning, If you are staying at La Grande Métairie Campsite and you go for dinner, check what time they are closing the south entrance. Whilst it is possible to jump the gate, it isn't easy with two young children or a not very flexible wife. I would suggest going for lunch or driving there.

We drove by and the building caught our eye, then the Classic Citroen van outside and we knew we had to try it.

Having booked (you will need to) we were greeted with a lovely welcome and a cosy real French restaurant with a collection of artefacts around the place.

Although we struggled with the language our host was very patient and he tried his best English and made us speak our (terrible school) French, but this was good and our children joined in, enjoying the whole experience.

The food was fantastic, great steak, real home made steak burger and the Master Creperie well he proved his talent at the end.

If ever we are near Carnac again we will head for this restaurant!!

Visited here with my wife and 3 boys. Childrens menu was a fixed price including a desert and drink. Food was nice and served very hot. Staff were friendly and were accomodating as my French is a little rusty.

The food is very good here but you need to book in advance. We called one evening and there was only 1 table of diners but we were told they were fully booked. We got a reservation for four days later. When we eat there on Friday night there was only 3 tables of diners and they again were turning people away! This is Strange but food and drink good, service good and I would go back.

This is such a great little gem of a place to stop and eat, superb ambiance and quirky mix of retro and modern interior.

The service was first class, as a very fussy eater I thought it may be an issue but the restaurant were very accommodating and got my burger spot on. The chips were delicious and it was all very well presented.

For dessert I opted for a crepe with nutella and Chantilly cream. It was truly delicious - one of the best crepes I have had. This is a place I will certainly be revisiting next year.
