“great seafood restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2012

even though this restaurant isn't at the harbour, where you'd expect all the best seafood restaurants, it is for connaisseurs - since we found it, we count ourselves to be such. we reserved a table for at 6pm because we couldn't get a later one, still succeeded in staying there for 2.5hours without anyone bothering us at all (we saw the manager having to turn away customers - probably because people were so reluctant to leave). the various plateaux are all excellent, we had lots of fresh seafood, the waiters spoke french only, but if you didn't understand, they'd give you a hint in english or german. excellent food. wonderful wine (try a 'cesar') great value for money. we will love to come back, if we can get a table.

“Very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2012

Very good restaurant right near downtown. Our server was actually English, which was a "plus" for those in my group who don't speak French.

The food is good but a bit pricey for the amount you get. Very good service, better than most establishments in France.

I highly recommend the seafood plate or platter for a truly Breton experience.

“We finally made it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2011

I had heard about the Ruffé on so many times... We made it only two days ago but unfortunately had no real time to enjoy the food which was more than excellent as we were going to a concert almost next door... Please, do allow yourselves at least two hours as you'll be at first explained what the food policy (using local species and so on) is (which I find also interesting and clever) then served sth yummy along with your aperitive then the staff will take lots of care (sometimes almost too much)(just because I'm not used but they were all really nice) about wine and quality of the food... Even though we had explained we wouldn't stay for long, we had to rush but it was all our fault. The price of the menu (19,90 € for a three courses dinner) is extremely reasonable and the food is simply gorgeous... Everything is so delicate, so tasty... Just try it!

“Good but a bit pretentious”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2009

Good cooking with good ingredients and a knowledge of taste gives a good dining experience but it does not quite pull off the sophistication that it seems to be aiming for. Very good value house wine
