“I would not rate it 4 stars”
Reviewed November 4, 2013 via mobile

The reason - why not 4 stars - there is no car park. There is one, but it does not belong to the hotel, and it is not free. The rooms need some new furniture. The blankets and the pillows are small and uncomfortable. The toilet and the bathroom are separate rooms, which is not good. The hotel also has advantages like quietness, tasty food in the restaurant, based in the center of Vichy, not far from Célistin, big rooms. It is okay to stay for one night. But I would not stay there for more. It used to be 4 stars about 30 years ago, I guess. Just small improvements - you will be fine.

Loved beautiful belle epoch charm of this hotel. We stayed for two nights for the Vichyc Challenge triathlon. Gorgeous big room with recently renovated bathroom and carpet. Staff were delightful. We enjoyed a great value for money, late night dinner on the veranda when we arrived Friday night. The hotel even put on a 05:30 breakfast for triathlon athletes. The hotel is situated opposite the Opera and across the park from a lovely shopping area with restaurants, and not far from the river. Would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay there again.

Room Tip: We choose a suite to have a larger room. The slight increase in price was well worth it- huge ceilin...

Adjacent to the Opera House this lovely hotel met our needs perfectly. Big interconnecting rooms was ideal for our family of five. Dip in the pool before breakfast added to the experience. Fantastic breakfast (although a little expensive). Parking could be a problem but is free immediately outside on Sundays (when we were there).

Room Tip: Great price for two rooms through booking.com

one of the best night sleep I had. comfi beds, AC, quiet. Clean, friendly service. Very large rooms (we had connecting rooms). B'fst at 15Euros and 9Euros for kids is on the expensive side. So we got our own in a bakery just outside the hotel for 5Euros in total. Parking could be a problem. The frew free ones were all taken, but there are paying ones just outside the hotel. You can only stay there for 2hours max, so every 2 hours you need to move the car...

This hotel has a old fashion decoration but the rooms have too much space bathroom ok too. The location is good but they have no parking and the service is not good at all, but i would come back because the quality- price relationship is good. The swiming pool is a little cold.

Elegant and historic building from the 'belle epoque', with spacious and comfortable rooms. Quaint old-fashioned lift, reminiscent of ones I remember from my childhood. Great central location, our room had good views of the Opera and park. No hotel car park, we parked right outside for a couple of hours to check-in(paying), then later found a space just along the road near the statue/square (to the left facing the building). At first there were no spaces, but by 5/6pm there were several to choose from. There is also parking in streets behind the hotel, but the square/statue area is preferable.

We didn't have breakfast in the hotel, but we did have dinner in 'La Veranda' restaurant, which was very good and reasonable value. Tables next to the windows are recommended- large windows with views to the Opera across the road so you can watch the world go by as you dine in elegant surroundings (a performance was on that evening). There are plenty of other restaurants and cafes within strolling distance of the hotel. The tourist information office is a short distance up the road, on the same side. We tried several of the city-walks on a leaflet picked up from there, visiting historic spa buildings and also sampled the effervescent water from the old taps at La source des Celestins.
