This restaurant is situated just in from the sea front on a not too busy road. We sat outside on the terrace. I had the best chipirones that I have had in the Basque country. My partner had mussels which were also outstanding. Neither of us usually eats pudding but the Basque Creme Brulee was not to be missed. It was a great meal at a very reasonable price.

We had an aperitif there on the first evening of our holiday and the atmosphere in the bar was good so we went back later for dinner. The bar was almost empty but the waiters were friendly and professional. Food was not exceptional but fairly good average bar food which was exactly what we were looking for on a rainy night.

The staff was extremely friendly, the food was good, the service was rapid. We were told that Ernest Hemingway had eaten here (or written about here?), and that the decor remains the same as during that time. I would eat here again. And definitely try their special dessert--can't remember the name, but it is like tiramisu.

An excellent mixture of Basque and French food with a hint of Spanish cuisine. Eat inside or out. Menu of the day on a blackboard was good value and great eating. Not a lot of frills but all round a very good place to eat and drink. Less expensive than many other places in town and well worth a visit. We will be back on our next visit to Saint Jean de Luz.
