I've been here many times over the past few years and have never been disappointed! There's always a warm and cosy atmosphere in the pub and the owner and servers are always very friendly. There's a wide selection of great beers from all over the world. The burgers are phenomenal, the chips are perfectly cooked and the servings are generous.

Years ago this would have been like a British or Irish pub, nowadays there are very few places that look like this in Britiain. It's a very tatty and old fashioned pub that needs updating and with sticky menus and a small selection of Burgers, salad and Fish and chips. At €15 for a burger it's a rip off. There was a time when you could get cheap good food in Irish/British bars in France but now the prices are ridiculous and they're living in the past, especially when Britiain has moved on and is now modern and gastronomic. McDonald's would be my recommendation, there's a reason why France is McDonald's second biggest market in the world nowadays.

Hello

Thanks for your review. We are always happy to hear customer opinions.

Sorry our pub didn't delight you, as we try are best to be authentic and friendly, if a little old-fashioned.

I understand that many UK pubs are now bright and modern, however not all are like this. Our goal was not to be like a chain or ultra modern, but to be warm and traditional.
My wife is english, so we are very familiar with all types of pubs, having visited England, Scotland and Wales.

Many UK pubs actually serve frozen food, as my son works in a UK pub, and I have several friends, who work in UK pubs.

We pride ourselves on serving fresh, local, homemade produce. Our menu is not extensive because we make everything fresh and could not do this, if we had a complicated menu. However, we have a good selection of burgers, fish and chips, salad, steak (entrecot), lasagne, ribs, welsh.. so not a bad selection for homemade produts, given the size of the pub. Additionally, we have a good knowledge of beers and whiskies. We hope our customers will appreciate, enjoy and come back for all of this.

The cost of food is higher in France than in the UK, but in comparison to fellow French bars and restaurants, our prices are very competitive. In the UK, it is possible to eat very cheap ... again because many places serve frozen food. Those that do make homemade, are not always cheaper than us, in our experience.

If you prefer to eat cheap fast food, like MacDonalds, and are not even willing to try our Menu (as you did not actually EAT in our pub!) then I can't really take your opinion seriously. Chain, frozen food, does not compare to our locally sourced, fresh homemade product!

I must say that this pub has never dissapointed me. It's well situated in the city and has an atmosphere of a sportbar a bit, but when you walk up the stairs, there is plenty room for sitting, but if you're going to visit on friday or weekend, I recommend making a reservation, as it can get easily full. They have some basic burgers which are already amazing enough, but if you feel a bit gourmand, you can either switch or add some ingredients. They have some other things on menu, like fish&chips, which my boyfriend says are amazing too, so don't be afraid to eat as much as you can :D and they have a big selection of beers that can accompany your meal just perfectly. The staff is always happy to help with any question and they don't let you wait too long, even if the pub is full. And they wear kilts, awesome.
