The place itself looks nice, selection of wines is decent, albeit a little bit pricey. I for myself would have liked a more regional selection.
The problem was the staff: not very welcoming, much tension between the two ladies. You won't be asked if you want something more, whether things are OK. If you don't ask, no one will attend. I would have liked one or two more, but I did not have the impression that that would have been a welcomed move.
Be it as it is, probably the wrong evening.

A cosy, discreet, bar serving great wine and delicious-looking platters (we exercised restraint and decided not to try them) with the entirely enjoyable soundtrack provided by the Postmodern jukebox playing unobtrusively in the background. What a place to be as Pau slowly slipped from the working week to the weekend in the period when summer slips into autumn. 2 beautiful glasses of Médoc rouge, served by great, friendly staff. Memorable.

We visited Pau to watch a rugby match and during my pre-trip research I found details on this bar. On the way back from the game our taxi driver dropped us off there and we stayed there until it was time to leave! It was about 10.30pm when we were dropped off so a couple of happy hours were spent in the company of the two chic and glamourous ladies who run it. We started off ordering a glass of wine each - there were four of us - then decided it would be easier to share a couple of bottles. After seeing other customers ordering food we decided that it would be nice to do so too. We ordered the terrine, and the mixed meat platter which was thinly sliced ham and saucisson and both came with plenty of bread and this went well with the local wines that had been recommended to us. It opens at 7pm, otherwise we'd have been back more than the one time we managed the day after but if we're ever back in Pau we'll be on the doorstep at 7pm!

A lovely small wine bar with a good collection of wine from France and elsewhere with friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed an early evening drink in this bar on a cold and wet December evening as we explored Pau. Staff were able to talk knowledgeably about the wine they had and they were also able to recommend some great local places to eat.
