we had about 10 eat outs in the 2 weeks we were in the Dordogne; I must think hard and long if we ever visited a restaurant twice during one and the same holiday but I think not. At least until we got to know Le Centainre in Les Eyzies. A gastronomical experience worth repeating whenever we get the chance. We have eaten out at many restaurants including 1 and 2 star Michelin establishment (3 star hopefully soon) and I am so modest to think we can say something about good food. We ate twice on the terrace. It's not a place with a tremendous view but it's the terrace is reasonably well protected and the wind and the noise from the street.
The service is excellent. The lady (did not ask her name, but she is from British descent but living in France for a long time) that served us might not be the encycopledia on gastronomy but she was fast, attentive, smiling and generally pleasant and courteous during service.
The food, well, it was the best we had in the Dordogne so far. It still needs a little addition of finesse to get that first Michelin star (if that would be a goal) but I hope they won't target that because it would explode the prices. One time we had the All-In menu at 56 per person which is a tremendous price/quality choice. The other time we had the menu af 44 per person and ended up paying about 160 euro for 2 people including coupe of champagne, different white wine with the entree, a very nice big bottle of Vacquearas for the main course and cheeses and coffee to end).
I highly recommend you visiting this place. If the quality of the experience is anything near what we had, you will not be disappointed.
