Description: It does not seem to have a website yet. I included a link to a newspaper article. It has opened about two weeks ago I think. I was very impressed by the food (not by the service however, it seems like a topchef hired a 17 year old farmboy to serve the guests). But still, I would like to write a review for this guy.

A lot of bad reports, but not for us - we went there for lunch on Saturday, there was an excellent menu, 5 courses for 22 euros, and the food was superb and very well presented! The fish soup was delicious, a little salad with cod and potatoes was very delicate and tasty, and the Barbary duck was perfectly cooked; we had cheese and a delightful chocolate fondant to follow. Our waitress was charming, friendly but professional. The decor is very simple, modern and chic, giving a calm and elegant atmosphere. It is a small and intimate room, and may be better suited to dinner than lunch, and on Saturday evenings they have a pianist. We could not fault it, and will definitely go again.

After reading an article in the local newpaper about this restaurant that just opened two weeks ago we decided to try it. Like in all new restaurants the paint was just dry and knifes and spoons had just been unwrapped. It is a small restaurant, but with a trendy look and feel.

The food is very, very good. The chef is clearly trying to bring high quality to Bergerac-City-Center. The price of the menu (which is very limited I must say, but if you like a perfect steak and baked Foie Gras you'll do fine), was very acceptable, about 42 Euro for two amuses starter, main course and desert. We are used to high quality food and really loved it here.

Unfortunately. What is also 'new' is the waiter obviously. We were served by a very young boy who absolutely misses the point. He forgot to thank us for a generous tip, did not open the door, puts wine in the wrong glass etcetera. It is also 'charming', but at the same time its really out of place when the food and atmosfere is so good. It's like Manuel from Fawlty Towers, but then in a Michelin** Restaurant.

But then again, the food makes up for a lot. Don't visit this restaurant with small children. But if you are in for a romantic dinner with a little laugh visit Le Menu Plaisir. And do so fast, because I am pretty sure that the chef will replace or educate the boy very soon.

We spoke to two ladies who were celibrating a birthday there. It was their second time around and they indicated that they were very happy with this restaurant too.
