“Cyrano would not eat here”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

I really rate this place poor/average.
Ate there summer 2012 on a hot evening in Bergerac.
Surroundings lovely, around a 200 year old tree in the beautiful old town.
Food however was quite poor and tasteless. Gizzards really are overrated!
Service from head-waiter was below par although waitresses were better.
Prices were on the high side given the quality of food and service,
Obviously paying for the location.
Would go elsewhere next time!

“Best value in Bergerac”
Reviewed January 29, 2012

You know you are in a good restauant in a wine growing area when the table wine is excellent. Too many restaurants in these areas serve poor quality wine to "push" you towards purchasing their bottle wine at pretty expensive prices. I work in the wine business and know this is a common practise. Now the food.... had lunch on Sunday. The ambiance, the care by the serving staff really makes this the best place in Bergerac. The food was excellent, the meat cooked as ordered, the veg/salad was excellent, cepes etc. Hard to say one dish was better than another, just high quality food with great service at a reasonable price. Going to be my regular eating place when in Bergerac. Maybe I will meet you there? Visit, it is a treat.

“Great for local specialities.”
Reviewed September 24, 2011

This restaurant is in a delightful position in a square in old Bergerac. The food is good and the service friendly and efficient. We would definitely go back. Not especially cheap but value for money.

“Wonderful Bergerac specialities”
Reviewed April 1, 2011

Arrived at 8.00pm no wait but it was 1 April, beautiful setting and wonderful atmosphere in the heart of Bergerac Old town. Charming & attentive owner who is very keen to provide an excellebnt service & who is every proud of the local produce mainly fois gras, mushrooms, duck & local Bergerac wines. Food is excellent as is the wine, not a huge choice but it dosnt need to be. Highly recommended

“A perfect beginning or end to your stay in Bergerac”
Reviewed August 3, 2010

God forgive me, but I can't resist foie gras nor magret du canard, nor cepe mushrooms. So when you stumble upon a charming restaurant with alfresco dining that offers all 3 ingredients - I'm doomed. Set menus available from Euro14, 16, 18 as well as á la carte. DEVINE DINING!!! Had a sleepless night afterwards...was it from the overkill of fat & protein or did they use MSG (which I am highly sensitive to)? Wide selection of french pastries & home made ice cream for dessert.
