“Wonderfully Welcoming Owners”
Reviewed August 9, 2010

The owners of this funky hotel were a real delight. They helped us out with lots of little issues and were so friendly. The decor is 1970s retro. We stayed in the family suite which had bunk beds in one room and a queen bed in a large second bedroom for us.
It was located a liitle further out of town than was ideal(10 mins walk), and was reasonably priced for Biarritz in July.
We only stayed one night, but the warmth of the owners made it a highlight.

Crazy 60/70's styling in this hotel. The lobby was like stepping into an Austin Powers movie!

Rooms are similar with funky designs. Size wise they are fine. Big, comfortable bed. Our room had no windows but rather a glass door with a curtain to cover it. So i guess there is no way to open a window without having the door open.

No real wardrobes but there is an open section to hang your clothes.

Lovely breakfast and the staff are exceptionally friendly recommending restaurants and bars.

Location wise it is about a 10-14 minute walk to the town. It's a nice walk so you don't notice it. Also there is a free bus service throughout the day that picks you up outside the hotel.

Fun, small hotel that's a little bit different than the mainstream stuff out there

I stayed here recently with my boyfriend and had a great few days. The hotel is exceptionally clean, the owners are very friendly and accomodating and nothing was too much trouble!
I would highly recommend this hotel!

Very warm welcome. Car parking on street was problem free. Breakfast was relatively simple and reasonable value for money. Room facilities basic (no hairdryer or shelving/drawers)

I was so impressed with the Mirano Hotel that it's prompted me to write my first ever review. It's a small place with about 15 rooms. The lobby / bar area decor is retro-kitsch with funky 70's style chairs, sofas and carpets. The rooms are small but functional with a good bed and a great shower.

The best thing about the hotel is the owners who are both extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the town and surrounding area. They were kind enough to recommend great restaurants and booked tables for us both nights. They also directed us to some lovely beaches just outside of town as well as how to get around San Sebastian, just over the border in Spain.

As a few others have mentioned, some might consider the location a drawback since it is a 10-15 minute stroll into town. Personally, I enjoyed the walk since it gave us a chance to burn off dinner. It also means it's in a very quiet, residential area of town, which I consider a plus.

In summary, this is a perfect little hotel and I look forward to staying there again someday.

My husband and I spent 5 nights at this spotlessly clean hotel and would not hesitate in recommending it. The owners couldn't do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble, we were always greeted with a smile, their recommendations of the places to eat and the quickest way to get there etc were spot on. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the town but it is definetely beneficial when you have sampled the delicious array of food that is on offer in Biarritz.. The close proximinity to the airport ( about 10 minutes) is a benefit as the flights were so infequent we were not disturbed by noise at all. Breakfast was worthwhile 8.50 Euro plenty to eat, and as much coffee and English tea as you wanted. Small but delightful hotel.

This was a real hidden gem. Sweet hotel with great flair, and a very warm welcome. Staff/Owners were very kind and helpfull, and made us feel very welcome. About a 15-20 min walk to the centre - but a beautiful walk at that. Very handy for the airport too.
