My meals lacked any color. My whole plate was brown. The potatoes are overhyped and pair better with the mushroom sauce than the actual meat did. Although the veal chop was flavorful, it was also a nightmare to cut with their non-serrated knives. it was like I was in a battle with an already dead animal. That shouldn't happen. The redeeming factor was the foie gras [duck, not goose] and toast. Wow. It was very rich and very nice. It can definitely be shared by two people. Our waitress was very sweet and attended to all our needs regularly, while having good English and being polite. Overall, I think the food is way overpriced, and you are paying for the nice aesthetic/environment as well as the appeal of meat cooked over a grill. Which, if you're from USA and/or have a grill yourself, other cheaper restaurants/your own bbq should be much more value for your money.

We have been looking forward to visiting this restaurant since watching Rick Steins programme a couple of years ago and we were not disappointed. It is completely unpretentious here, simply very good food and wine at prices that reflect the quality of produce offered. The ham with shallots first course was probably only 3 ingredients , but amazing.

Interesting old house turned into a rustic restaurant. When we arrived we were not feeling like eating much so requested one main dish to share. The waitress told us it was not possible to order just one main. We pointed out that the menu said that a dish could be shared for an extra 5 euros. She agreed that would be all right. The food is cooked fresh on an open fire so comes to the table extremely hot. It was very tasty and with interesting flavours and combinations of taste

Visited La Tupina for the first time having seen Rick Stein's long weekends. It was the hottest day ever in French history, so it was very quiet! We had the 3-course set lunch menu at €18. Radishes, tomatoes and pate as a complimentary start, followed by chilled Gazpacho Soup, Lamb Chops cooked over the open fire with summer vegetables (the best Lamb Chops I have ever tasted) and a Doughnut type dessert with jam and fresh cream. The wine was reasonably priced too - our 75cl bottle of Rose was about €22. Our waiter was knowledgeable and spoke very good English. Had to feel for the Chef cooking over the fierce fire in extreme heat but we shook his hand afterwards to thank him. This was the stand out meal of our holiday! Next time we visit, we will be ordering from the A La Carte Menu. Fabulous!
