If you want to experience an authentic restaurant in bordeaux, this is the place to visit.
The menu is on a large billboard ( bit overwellming).
The food was very good, we had several appertizers to share including octopus, oysters, salmon. The ingrediends were very fresh and tasty.
As main, i had t bone, which is one of their specialities, very juicy and tasty.
The wine were very good, and affordable. I would like to point the fact that the waitress who took care of us was very professionnal, kind and had sense for details. We were a party of ten and she remembered every request we had, and trust me we has many !

Great seafood bistro, with young and quick service. An uncooked shrimp was apologised with free coffee and cognac. Highly recommended though!

We ate at Le Petit Commerce twice during our recent visit because the food was so good. The moules a la plancha are fabulous, and all the other seafood dishes, all of which are grilled, were wonderful. The restaurant serves only fresh seafood, so the menu changes with what is available, and on one occasion, they had run out of the langoustine early in the evening. The wine list is short, but we found a white Bordeaux that was delicious and went well with our meals.

Le Petit Commerce is actaully 3 restaurants within about 100 feet of each other with somewhat different atmospheres. The wait staff varies considerably from pretty rude individuals to waiters who were very attentive and took a great deal of interest in us personally. During the high season, the restaurant fills regularly with those who have reservations, so be sure to make a reservation if you visit in August.

This is obviously a very popular seafood venue that appears to have expanded into buildings up and down and opposite it's original site as it became more and more popular.
We did book on the night and were put in what looked like and old wine cave which was very pleasant with wine bottles and boxes all around.
Menu was on a blackboard and prices were very reasonable.
We were a group of 8 and ordering was fine except the staff did not know the french translation of the dishes that were on the english blackboard menu.We therefore ordered our dishes in french which for some reason they got all wrong.
The starters and mains had to come some way from the kitchen ( it was a bit chilly outside) and although all tasted fine most of them were luke warm.
We asked several times for more water, wine and bread, none of which arrived until we became rather angry and eventually received one bottle of the two we asked for.
All in all on this occasion (a Monday night) the staff were not up to the task and no one in any real authority were anywhere to be seen which was probably because our part of this restaurant was remote from the rest.
Most reviews for this place are good and I am sure that on another occasion we would not be disappointed so all we would say is be aware that at busy times they may be a bit stretched.
