My experience at this hotel was great. It was selected specifically because of its location to pubic transportation (directly across the street from the tram), restaurants and the room's decor. The hotel prided itself on the ecentric albeit tasteful decor. The room was incredibly spacious, modern and funky with all of the required amenities. The bathroom vanity and oversized bath tub (that could probably fit three people comfortably) is a part of the bed room with no wall sepration. There is a separate closet for the toilet located immediately at the entry of the room. The hotel staff was efficeint, friendly and responsive. My stay included a free daily breakfast, which was American style (a definite positive). The trip was a birthday present, but I would definitely return to this hotel just for a regular vacation. It is best for couples or a single person as the bathroom is for the most part open to all see

I was wondering if I was being too picky but was glad to see that there were at least a few others who thought the decor to be a bit quirky and underwhelming after the first impression of creativity. It kind of reminded me of the Jungle Room at Elvis' Graceland (skip it if you can) with 70s-inspired, love-bolt-style furnture (think round bed in some rooms, strange hanging velvety ropes dividing the room from the bathroom, shiny/glitzy fake silk bedcovers). The ceilings were also a bit too low for my taste and a room with a view is actually what people in Cape Town call a partial seaview or side view - a balcony on a side street that requires rubber-necking to actually see the sea, in this case the river. Ok, I know Capetonians are spoiled by nature but you get the picture. Staff was for the most part exceptionally friendly, the night-shift guy always helped me out with the parking and the staff manager from St. Martin was great in clarifying a billing issue. The rooms are way overpriced for size and location. You cannot walk to the centre of Bordeaux, you need to take the tram, so why not pay less in a more central location for a much better hotel - see my review for Petit Hotel Labottiere. Day and night. It is a no-brainer, but we stayed here because we had a car during the second week of our Bordeaux trip, and for this, Seekoo is good. It has ample parking, easy to get into and out, and it is close to the highway and ring highway around Bordeaux, so it was perfect for getting out for our excursions to Medoc and gorgeous St. Emillion. But that would be the only reason to stay there in my opinon. We did not use the Hammam but it did look fun. Give it a pass if you don't need a car.

We staid one night, and unfortunately it was a little time to enjoy Bordeaux and the Seekoo, but the design is absolutely awesome, full of interesting details. We booked a Suite Junior Supérieure Agrément on the 5th floor, and it was clean, comfortable and well lit, although not much of a view. There's a lot of creativity all over. Wifi worked fine and there was sufficient parking space inside the building. I however missed a breakfast service included in the rate, which at the end didn't turn out an issue as we found a terrace table at charming restaurant by the cathedral.

We stayed here in September 2010 with some friends for a get together and to watch Bordeaux play Lyons. It was very modern and clean if a little like a hospital in places. The rooms had a sort of open bathroom with beads which when you are two friends sharing is not ideal but not the end of the world. Not particularly close to the centre but a pleasant walk down the river past the cafes and shops.
