The hotel itself is ideally located in the heart of Bordeaux, opposite the Opera House and in close proximity to restaurants, wine shops and all the wonderful attractions that Bordeaux has on offer. The rooms were beautifully appointed, clean and a comfortable to stay in. Perhaps the rooms are a bit classically styled in terms of interior, but that is a matter of taste.
The breakfast was well taken care of and be sure to order a freshly made omelet from the omelet-guy. He does an excellent job. The croissants were also very good. In addition we also dined in the brasserie of the hotel, which was great value for money, with excellent dishes and great wines by the glass (e.g. Margaux 2007). To start exploring Bordeaux, this is your spot.

Room Tip: Rooms at the frontside of the Hotel overlook the square.

Stayed here over a weekend and was very impressed by the friendliness of the staff, their willingness to help, the cleanliness of the hotel, the quality of the fittings/furnishings. I could only find one fault, my air con would not cool the room and I could not open a window. I have stayed in a number of hotels in Bordeaux, this is the most expensive but also the best. The location can't be faulted, it is in easy walking distance to the tram stop, GOOD restaurants, shopping, tourist office. This is the ultimate location in Bordeaux. Try to get a room with a balcony over looking the opera. They have a spa, gym and a pool on the roof. The breakfast buffet can be expensive, but take the continental breakfast option at £20, all the fruit, cereals, juice, croissants, cold cuts and coffee you can eat.

Excellent position in heart of this pedestrian friendly city. Hotel staff were found to be uniformly very helpful in particular 'Silka' the convenor of the morning breakfast service truly professional. Cocktail lounge was a great place to enjoy a nightcap each evening or before dinner. We were part of a 14 person group tour staying 7 nights and from tour member feedback the rooms do vary considerably in size and aspect so would recommend viewing more than one room in order to find an appropriate room. The position opposite the Opera inspired us to attend a Saturday matinee performance of the Magic Flute and we were able to purchase tickets at the door great seats at reduced prices. Couldn't have a more central, quality base to explore this charming city.

Room Tip: Rooms vary so ask to see a selection. Rooms at rear of hotel a fair way from the action.

Fantastic location in the centre of town.

Comfortable rooms which are well equipped & furnished to a high standard. Our bathroom was huge!
Staff were very friendly & happy to help with recommendations of what to do in town.

Note: Fitness centre with a roof terrace is complimentary but if you want to use the pool or spa you have to pay a supplement.

This is THE place to stay in Bordeaux. It's in the Old City and it's a minute walk to any destination. You can get to the main train station by metro from here, walk along the Seine, you name it - it's all here. The hotel is wonderfully appointed. You'll feel pampered from the moment you arrive. The breakfast buffet is good. However, order your eggs freshly prepared from the omelette guy - you'll enjoy them more. Do the same for your coffee - get an expresso or cappacino - lovely, lovely. The croissants are freshly made and melt in your mouth. The rooms are very nice with large closets. And great sound proofing. We slept quite well.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the square, so you can see the river.
