Ibis Bordeaux Centre Bastide
Ranked #29 of 177 Hotels in Bordeaux

This is a new Ibis conveniently located next to a large supermarket for supplies but on the other side of the river to the main tourist attractions in Bordeaux. To walk to the centre of Bordeaux (Place Des Quinconces) across Pont de Pierre takes about 30 mins. You can take a tram, however, you do have to change and the trams aren't that frequent compared to other large cities. This is ok if you're in Bordeaux for a couple of days, but if you are there for much longer then I think the location would become a little tiresome. The guys working the reception desk are very friendly and helpful.

Ibis certainly can take credit for having your sleep quality near or at the top of their list. The beds were fantastic, the best we had slept in and still the best. We had stayed at a previous Ibis in Saint Malo and had similar beds. The difference comes down to the pillows. Our previous room had the right combination with softer pillows.
This was really the only down side to this room, the room was a good size, very good shower and good sound proofing.
The location was good too with a supermarket next door and really only a short ride on the tram or walk across the bridge to the city centre.
Grab the all day pass for moving around, it is really good value.

Stayed here earlier this week for three nights. I like the location. It's not slap bang in the centre of Bordeaux but it's not far from it. There's a Tram stop close by (Stalingrad) although I did prefer to walk over the beautiful Pont de pierre (bridge).
Room was nice, view was nice and the bed was comfortable. The window kept the noise out and the aircon worked OK. Only gripe about my room was that the bathroom/shower was tiny. That said, the shower worked very well.
Staff with only one exception were very nice. That one exception was a guy who wasn't happy when I asked if we could speak in English. At that point my limited knowledge of French was failing me and I had no choice! Otherwise, the rest were very helpful and one gentleman even helped with me with a couple of french pronunciations.
The question I always ask myself when I review a hotel is would I stay here again, and the answer on this occasion is 'Yes'.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way back to CDG airport. The car park next door was a big plus and very convenient - the alternative would have meant leaving the car on the road which is costly during the day. The room was excellent, especially the shower. The room rate changed during the course of the week which was good. Excellent breakfast which is well worth the money. Excellent experience all round.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights while visiting Bordeaux. It is an average budget hotel. Rooms are small but clean. They provide free wi-fi connection for 24 hours and you can park your car in the Carrefour supermarket that is just below the hotel, paying the parking fee.
Location is good, there is a cinema center a few blocks form the hotel and 4 or 5 bars and restaurants to have dinner.
