“Nice by the river promenade restaurant”

We chose this restaurant based on good TA reviews and local's advice. It is reasonably priced and well located along the main river promenade. It has very few outside seating, so we waited for a while, as it's very pleasant for dinner as the sun is behind the buildings so you sit in a shade.
The biggest issue is understanding, as no one of the staff speaks English and the menu is only in French. Luckily, a guy next table did, so he advised us to order Meatoche - it's basically a burger with different sauces, plenty of fries and little bit of salad. Ordered two with different sauces and it was quite OK. The place is very relaxed, with many locals gathering so the atmosphere's very cool.

Riverbank tavern specialising in burger and fries. Choose your sauce from a range of five or six. Delicious!

This place is sort of a regular for me and friends. Feels warm and simple, a true local place with great food to go along. The homemade steak haché is a must and I strongly advise you to try all the different sauces. Especially the Bordelaise sauce, which I guarantee it will leave you scraping all eats and bits with pleasure. Plus, they have a really cool menu of traditional french food, escorted by good wine at solid prices. In the middle of all this, take some time to speak with the waiters in multiple languages, really cool fellas who know how to host their clients. A must in Bordeaux.

Hopped in to get out of the rain and ended up staying for an hour! Great service, felt welcome instantly. They really appreciated the little French we managed to muster. Lovely decor, delicious wine and the food looked great too.

There was only one waiter on and he rushed round and did his job extremely well for the amount of tables. The prices are very reasonable and the plates are full. Better than the much more expensive resteraunt we are at the day before.
