Description: New gourmet restaurant located in the old Bordeaux, "St Pierre" district. After many years with great chefs (Alain Ducasse, Alain Senderens, Michel Portos), David Grangier and Olivier Rouland wanted to combine their expertise to offer their "cuisine", simple but tasty and seasonal products and flavors have a prominent place. David and Olivier welcome you in a warm atmosphere. The restaurant is open every day except Sunday and Monday for lunch and dinner (open Monday evening from May to September)

Great friendly service, good quality good and nice ambience. The waiter kindly translated the menu for us and provided all the detail we required and provided his recommendations. Seafood was excellent. Highly recommend although would suggest booking in advance as quite small.

Right in the heart of the cutest part of town, which offers an array of restaurants sometimes aiming at luring tourists into paying a lot of money for some boring duck confit or goat cheese salad, le Davoli is an exceptionnal place to enjoy creative, funny, perfectly mastered french cuisine with a twist. For a price that remains reasonnable if you compare it to quality equivalent Michelin-star restaurants, you should let the chef surprise you with his creativity at revisiting classics of South West of France cuisine. No bells and whistles here, everything in your plate is meant to create new sensations by associating flavors you are not accustomed to. We had the completely surprise menu with matching wines, everything was perfect from the beginning to the end. Service is friendly but not in your face, atmosphere is on the quiet side but not cold.

Only restriction would be that going through the whole dinner was really long, which was not an issue for us since we were enjoying a well deserved tete-a-tete, but might not be appropriate if you thing of taking your young children there. I have returned since with my whole family for lunch and it was fantastic again; the whole discovery menu was different, denoting the incline of the chef for fresh products.

There were also other options, probably faster, like lunch specials for weekdays and a three-course menu. But I recommend highly to trust the chef for his discovery menu for the best experience here. Take your time, enjoy.

This is a superb restaurant situated in the old quarter of Bordeaux. Welcome by the head waiter/owner (?) was correct He then went on to explain the intricacies of the menu. We opted for the "chefs choice", four courses plus amuse bouche. Each dish was superbly prepared and presented. This, together with the waiter's recommendation of a white Graves, made for a memorable dining experience.

The menu did not offer much variety and it was quite inflexible for our party of 6. The staff were polite but not friendly. The house cocktail is a must. The food was good and the steak excellent, but having 2 starters out of 3 being crayfish and prawns, and 3 meats out of 4 were beef, it was not very inspiring. It was a nice room, but it was too brightly lit and therefore cold.

Oh how exciting to make an excellent restaurant find! We had one of our best meals in France at this small gourmet restaurant. We chose the fixed price three-course menu and couldn't have been more pleased! The selections were awesome for both taste and presentation. My husband's duck made La Tour d'Argent's attempt in Paris totally lacking and we mean this seriously. It was perfect at Le Davoli--tender and flavor filled and my fish course was delicious as well. The food and service were absolutely outstanding all evening. Factoring in a reasonable price for both wine and dining pleasures this may be our top pick of our French experiences for a lovely, casual evening out. Back in the States this establishment would be reserved months ahead. Bon Appetit!
