It was a shaky start with a very small room and tiny bathroom better suited to a single occupancy than a couple, but the staff were fabulous and moved us to a larger room on the third floor with a corner location. This is not a four star hotel, but for what you get, its very good value. It is after all an old building with charm. The breakfast is modest but it it works and it is after all a French hotel. Staff make up the difference with their friendliness and were very helpful. The location puts you in ground zero Bordeaux with all streets leading from the hotel offering unique experiences - the best part is its also on a small side street so away from the noise of the two main walking streets at each end. Would stay there again, just ask for the largest room in your price range.

Room Tip: Ask for a large room, we stayed in the end in room 22, it is a corner room on the third floor in the old building.

small hotel in the historic centre of bordeaux. after we checked out from the horrible ibis hotel, we moved to this nice little hotel in the historic centre of bordeax. really nice place. the rooms are small but really lovingly arranged and decorated, the old stonewalls are really fascinating, we were really impressed. the view over the roofs of bordeaux from the upper floor is really great, try it!

Stayed 2nights for conference. Very hard to find even with GPS. Expensive parking and had to walk a ways and couldn't find the street. Breakfast ok but pricey. We were put in annex hotel. Unique charming more like small apartment. Hard awful bed, weird shower/tub and doors on bathroom didn't close well. Room was hot and when asked about was told ac unit wasn't working well. We weren't offered to change rooms although place seemed empty when we were there. Staff did help us find a cute oyster fishing village we had heard about. Stay here for the great location. Walk to wonderful restataubts, cathedral etc. beautiful city. Few channels on tv came in English which is helpful when having jet lag wakefulness but too tired to move;)

As many other have said, the location couldn't be more convenient for shopping and sightseeing. The hotel is in a pedestrian precinct so there is no traffic noise.

It's quite difficult to find if you're coming by car and the parking garage is a little walk away (not great in rainy weather). Parking is also not cheap.

The hotel reception and the first impression are good - not your chain hotel, quirky but clean, interesting, comfortable-looking.

The staff is worth a special mention - friendly (but never familiar) and helpful.

The room was reasonably large, with a comfortable bed, a bathroom and separate toilet). This was not up to the price of 155 Euros/night: the bathroom in particular was in need of some repairs (black grout round the bath in particular), the flush button on the toilet was badly fitted. Minimal toiletries.

You choose whether to have breakfast downstairs or in your room, the price is the same and not included in the room rate: 12 Euros/day/person.

There is nothing wrong with this hotel, but the price leaves you a little bit short on value: 2 people, 2 nights, 2x2 breakfasts+car par and you're over 350€ - you can get better value than this.

....a central location with distinctive French charm then opt for this hotel just off Gambetta square in Bordeaux. It's ideal if you only have a short time to explore this interesting city as it's within easy walking distance of all the main sights and shopping areas. staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and furnished in a distinctive chic style.
