What a find! We stumbled upon this gorgeous little restaurant in the city centre one lunchtime. The owner/patron (who looks a little like Bruce Springsteen..!) greeted us warmly at the door as we read the menu boards outside - that was all the encouragement we needed. It was early and the place was already busy with a mainly local crowd - always a good sign. There is plently of choice between the lunch menu and the a la carte. The €13.50 lunch formule offers remarkabel value. The food is genuinely homemade with a freshness and lightness that we hadn't come across elsewhere. The courgette tart starter was just divine. Mains were equally good. Desserts were laid out on the counter and all were tempting. This was superb cooking with good ingredients and great flavours. The decor is quirky and cosy. The staff were friendly and very efficient even when the place became very busy. The female chef emerged from the kitchen later to talk to some customers. As we were on holidays we got to linger over more wine and excellent coffees and really savour our meal. We were still talking about it a few days later - definitely a highlight of our visit to Bordeaux. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
