“Anywhere but here”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

We stayed in this place for six days, the last two of which were an extension on the original booking. This was the worst hotel we had stayed in during an extended trip of France. When we arrived, we were told the restaurant was closed, which is a problem because there is not much that is close by. Next, the laundry could not be done because the person was on holidays for two weeks. The receptionist, who was most helpful and the room service lady had to help us bash the door to the room open as there was something wrong with the lock. We assumed it would be fixed but not in six days, even after both staff members could see a problem.
Then, one day, we were doing a long trip and decided to get breakfast early as it is open from six. Well, not on that day, we rocked down around 6.20 and it was not open, why? We were told the bread was late. The final straw on this horrid place was when we decided to extend our booking two days due to a change in circumstances and because they claimed to be full, we had a a 50 percent increase on one nights rate. We saw many people in conflict with the one lady who seemed to the main part of the problem whilst we were there.

Never again for us on this one thanks, look for somewhere else, even if it costs more money.

This hotel was perfect for a short break in Bordeaux. The location is quiet and just a short tram ride to the city centre. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the buffet breakfast was all included in the room rate. There is secure parking in the basement at €7 per day. The Restaurant in the evenings was vert quiet so I would suggent you check in advance if you wish to dine there.

Not sure where some of these reviewers were staying but this was an excellent hotel, it was clean, quiet, good breakfast and the staff were very friendly and helpful. yes the town centre is 1 km away but the tram stops about 100 yards from the hotel entrance - you can buy a ticket for 1 weeks travel for around 11 euros - so very cheap. we had complementary water and sweets in our room each day, with complementary tea and coffee in the foyer. I travel a lot for work and stay mainly in 4* hotels - this is just as good as them. If I ever come back to Bordeaux I will be staying here.

Not a bad hotel but nothing special. Friendly staff. Location is a little far from the centre but they have car parking under the hotel and you can walk to the centre in 20 minutes. Restaurant is functional if you need dinner but i preferred to have the walk each evening. Rooms are normal sized as you would expect for an Ibis.

Absolutely horrible location. . . In an ugly, isolated neighbourhood where few taxis venture. Our taxi dropped us off at an ibis Styles hotel that was about 5 minutes away. The hotel clerk refused to call us a taxi, despite it raining, to take us to the booked one because it was too close. Our room was small, expensive for what it is, the TV did not work, the shower head was broken, there was no top-sheet on my bed. The croissants that were available at breakfast was good though.

I spent a week in Ibis Styles for a business trip and the place is ok, but nothing special. You get the standard features that you would expect from a business type of hotel, and nothing else. I would advice to book this hotel only if it is cheap at the time.

About the hotel, while the location is doable, it is not quite in center so you need to take a tram or walk a couple of kilometers to find anything. The rooms are ok, good soundproof, and the bed was ok too.

My only complain is that the staff were not well trained, or perhaps it was not their own fault, but they ended up charging my card twice. Normally it is not a big deal with a credit card, but I did get the double charge in a debit card which was not a nice thing.
