“great opportunity”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

You can try wonderful wines there at 2-3-5 euro per glass, actually cheaper than you could buy them by bottle.

“A must in Bordeaux”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

We received a coupons for two free glasses and decided to try it right as we arrived in town. I am so glad we did. First the decor is magnificent and the staff is very knowledgable and friendly. We had such a good time that we bought a few more glasses and then discovered that they held a classes at the Ecole du vin on how to taste and understand wine. The class in English was on a saturday and that was a great experience. The teacher was excellent, thorough, and had a good sense of humor. She even had prizes for correct answers!!! and of course there was a wine tasting at the end of the session. I would highly recommend the class if one has any interest in wine.

“Wine lessons”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

I took a great wine lesson here in English with Benoit Trocand, and learned a lot about tasting Bordeaux wines, terroir, history, etc. I thought this would be very basic but I really learned a lot. We also did a smelling test, to see if you could identify scents in an unmarked vial, it was super hard and pretty enlightening that I need to take some more time to notice flavors and scents while I eat.

“Check tour times”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

We made the mistake of trying to fit this in on our last day, unfortunately the tour was at 2.30pm so we couldn't do it as we needed to catch the flight back.
Can't comment on the tour obviously but the musuem is interesting and the little village it's located in is very cute
worth a wonder even if you can't get on a tour

“Excellent wine bar!”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

Located in the Maison du Vin de Bordeaux, the "Bar à Vin" is a great place to try the wines of the region. This attractive wine bar has quite a number of reasonably priced whites & reds by the glass. There is also a good snack menu of cheeses & cold cuts. There are several tastefully decorated rooms with sofas, tables and a bar and white molded ceilings and bottles of wine in racks against the wall. It has an airy and friendly atmosphere although understandably crowded.
