Conveniently located near the main shopping belt of rue Catherine and near main tourist attractions. Everywhere in Bordeaux is walkable from here. The spacious and airy apartments are a great find! Highly recommend it. Try to get a room facing the garden otherwise the trams may wake up light sleepers.

I enjoy the comfortable style and ambience of L'Hotel Particulier with a tea salon at reception and wine corner nearby at the entrance to the courtyard. My room (€125) was on the first floor overlooking the quiet, private courtyard, clean crisp bed linen, comfortable bed, no odours, useful kitchen, well designed shower alcove and separate toilet. I enjoyed my stay so much I extended and took The Junior Ravel Suite (€199) on the 3rd floor overlooking the elegant hotel where de Gaulle abrogated 'Armistice ' in 1940 and fought on. Now this suite is pure elegance, spacious luxury and worth every €. Highly recommend.

We stayed 4 nights in the apartment. Fantastic position, 100m to the cathedral ,50m to Monoprix supermarket . Tram runs outside front door. Very quiet inside hotel, room faced pleasant internal courtyard - great for a glass in the evening. No 1 bus stop 200m away, back to the airport for 1.40 euro fare.
Room cleaned, rubbish emptied daily, new towels.
Great staff, friendly, helpful. Only con were the mosquitoes - got a bit nibbled at night. Lovely city.

From the beginning we stepped in to our room we just felt in love. There are 3 of us so we book their suite particulier with 2 beds. The main bedroom was quite big and the other room with single bed in it. Bathroom was really nice, beautiful bathtub & we'll amenities. The interior was simple modern with an old architecture building. Love the window with colorful glass and comfortable chair. Breakfast was quiet unique & well served. No buffet but the lady who works there bake a really good apple tart & the dining room was so nice & homie. You just feel so special. Oh not forget to mentioned their old-style escalator, so unique and neat but be sure it's only can accommodate 2 people (quiet small) but the staircases were beautiful too. We will definitely coming back again if we have a chance and for a longer period...

This hotel is in an ideal location, bang in the city centre and close to all the shops that Bordeaux has to offer. The hotel itself is very nice, our room was immaculate and very well furnished; the beds were extremely comfortable. There was a small kitchen area to for everything you need. We were also allowed to check in 2 hours early which was great. Outside the hotel is a tram stop so it's very easy to travel around.I would definitely recommend this hotel and the city of Bordeaux for any one thinking of going.

Small tip - get a hold of a map the winding streets make it easy to get lost!

What a great location, and beautiful building! Without doubt we enjoyed the central location and the alternative option of this "Hotel Particulier". Rooms are not really luxury furnished or designed. Average contemporary style made our experience disappointing compare the beautiful pictures we saw when we booked, but was Okay. It's not an hotel, it's not a bed and breakfast ... so we've been always uncertain about what to expect from service... the best was : expect nothing and be Happy!!!
Breakfast is roughly a good experience, over acted service made it funny. We heard from our friends in Paris...it's about the local culture of Bordeaux of being traditional or over-snobbish... The only bad point was the average maintenance...

We used a suite in the top floor, which does not overlook to the street but the interior court. So silence is warranteed. The suite is very large, looks bigger than the officia 60m2. Bathroom is great and new, big bed, big room and the buidling, which was the residence of the Bishop (or this is waht they told us) , has been very nicely refurbished.
The location is just in the center. 5min walk to the catherdral and 20min to the river. Only downside is that the hotel has no parking, so that we had to leave the car in a public parking nearby the cathedral (1 day and 2 nights cost 31 EUR...not cheap but reasonable if you compare to other cities.
With this location we could visit everything without taking taxi, bus or tram.
To have dinner we ask for recomendation to the receptionist and they did do good remomendation for seafood in a place called "le commerce"...was just great.
PRobably you should avoid rooms on the low floors overlooking to the street due to the tramway noise.
Other downside:
- is that the AC for the room was just a split located on the glass gallery, which can't be enough in August. But we went there on winter, so it was not a problem.
- on the cleaning we found some debris on a cupboard and behind the bathroom radiator there was a detergent bottle (!). But for the rest it was at good standard.
