This restaurant is in Rue St Remi, along with many others. It is pleasant, but not exceptional and, for us, was marked by the number of waiting staff who seemed to do nothing all night.
Initially, they tried to seat us in the window, but the table sloped alarmingly and the cover of the banquette was torn, so we relocated towards the back of the restaurant. Service was fine, but unremarkable.
For me, some of the dishes were the reason we’d come, I had Grenier Medocaine (cold folded pigs stomach with onion jam – very tasty and my partner ate crevettes and chorizo: good but not outstanding. I had canard parmentier (this dish seems to have become very popular lately. It’s pleasant enough, but I probably wouldn;t bother again. My partner’s Cassoulet was fine. Desserts were macaron chocolat (OK) and coupe vacherin (nice). We drank ½L of pleasant rose.
It was Sunday evening and, frankly, the restaurants we’d have preferred were closed. This was fine, but it isn’t special.

We were attracted by the relaxed and spacious atmosphere and curious, bric-a-brac adorned bistro style interior. The menu features things like salade landaise, slow cooked beef dishes, wonderful duck dishes (one served with a truly remarkable honey and red wine reduced sauce) and of course fois gras (which was particularly good here). It was one of the best meals we have had for a long time. The only down side was that the service was damned slow and had to be reminded about out carafe d'eau about 3 times. Really though, who cares when you finally end up with a truly superb meal?

interesting place, although in the center is not strictly touristy but also popular; with local cuisine, delicious appetizers and desserts, wine Saint Emilian average

We went here as a couple looking for a nice meal. Wine selection was small but OK and we chose a good one thankfully, which was the best thing about dinner. We both ordered duck dishes and they arrived on the table around 2 minutes later (obviously pre-cooked) and the overcooked vegetables and duck were a low point of our trip to Bordeaux.

my food was good but the wait was probably not worth it! the first two people we had contact with were obviously not in a good mood, lucky there was a smiley young waitress to make up for it. the food was nice but mostly seemed to be served with potatoes and salad, as if the effort was too much to vary. the menu was ok but we did have far better value for money in the previous restaurant we ate in (chez les plouks) we would not go back here, but it's worth the try
