“Wine Tour in Bordeaux with Bruno”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012

Bruno is undoubtedly one of the finest wine guides we've had the pleasure to travel with. If you're new or a traveled wine lover you'll feel at ease with his knowledge of wine making and the Bordeaux region. Being our first trip to Bordeaux we were fortunate that our experience started with Bruno. Not only did Bruno share with us his knowledge of fine wines, but also fine French cuisine of the region. Our lunch was absolutely extraordinary at Le Saint Julien. We'll make another trip back to Bordeaux and Bruno will be getting an email from us to set up another exciting trip through the region.

“Had a fantastic time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2012

We had read countless reviews on TA about wineries etc in Bordeaux, but wanted to do something a little different to the norm.

We stumbled across Bruno's reviews and his Website www.bdtours.fr and decided that instead of just wine tasting a whole day, we'd incorporate a Horse Riding Experience through regional vineyards and country houses, followed by lunch at St Emillion and then a few hours of wine tasting in the afternoon.

Our experience was great.

We boarded a local train at Bordeaux (St Jean) and headed to a town called Libourne. Its about 20 mins out and there Bruno met us to facilitate our day.

The horse riding accommodated an inexperienced rider (not sure if this is still available) and a spirited horse for myself that was always looking for another 'gear' (brilliant). We had a great ride through a very picturesque area and whilst the heat was mild to getting hot in the morning, it was still very enjoyable.

Following a romp through the fields, we headed to St Emillion for lunch. WHAT A MAGNIFICENT TOWN!. A very nice little restaurant called Chai Pascal. We could have sat there all afternoon and enjoyed a bevy of wines.

After this we were chauffeured to a commercial winery, followed by a smaller boutique winery. Our preference was always the smaller boutique as you get a better experience. Thanks Claude (the owner) for opening your premises on a Sunday to accommodate us. It was very much appreciated.

The day was nearly at an end. Just a 20 min trip on the train back to Bordeaux. No aircon in the train this time....phew it was hot.

Overall, had a beautiful experience and would recommend to others to do your homework on the available wineries and choose some smaller ones to visit. The owners/proprietors are so welcoming.

TIP for new players: If you're planning a full day out to St Emillion, consider staying at one of the B&B's in town. They looked so inviting and located in such a beautiful, small historic town.

“Wine Immersion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2012

Although we've been drinking French wine for years, our private tour with Bruno was an educational and cultural experience. We came to appreciate wine making in Bordeaux, starting with large modern facilities and ending with a small family chateaux. Bruno is extremely knowledgable and likable. He took great care of us and delivered a customized and personalized wine experience in the St. Emilion and Pomerol regions. He joined us for lunch in the charming village of St. Emilion and we really enjoyed getting to know him. We highly recommend this and leave the driving to Bruno! Merci Bruno!

“Wine tasting in the Medoc..it doesn't get any better!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2012

It has always been our dream to tour the vineyards of France and we spent a wonderful day with Bruno as our guide in the Medoc region of Bordeaux sampling some truly lovely wines. Bruno is the perfect host/guide and his knowledge of wine is absolutely second to none.

We enjoyed a carefree and blissful day driving thru this breathtakingly beautiful region, visiting 4 stunning and very different chateaux along the way. Bruno not only has a great knowledge of wines worldwide, he also has a great sense of humour and is an overall pleasure to be around!

We cannot recommend him highly enough as a perfect accompaniment to your visit to the Bordeaux wine region.

Thanks again Mr Papparazzi. Vikki and Chris, Sydney Australia.

“Awesome Bordeaux Trip!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

My husband and I went took a short trip to Bordeaux over the 4th of July holiday specifically just to wine taste. We could not have asked for a better guide than Bruno. He planned out our 3 days well in advanced and we were able to research the wineries and suggest changes which he was very quick to adjust if possible. Bruno is a true wine expert and made a huge difference for our trip. We learned so much from him and all the visits. Definitely helped to clarify the confusion of French wine and Bordeaux. We left understanding all the classification systems of the region and got to taste some of the best wine in the world to include Chateau Margaux, Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion / Chateau Haut-Brion (my favorite!), and Chateau d'Yquem to name a few. He took pictures of us throughout the trip and sent them to us afterwards which was a great perk! On our last day, he went with us to a wine store in St. Emilion to help us pick out a case of wine to ship back home. We had a really amazing trip and cannot recommend anyone more than Bruno for the perfect Bordeaux trip!
