“great concept and good food”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

We ordered the prix-fix menu with 5 different dishes. Between the two of us, we had at least 8 unique things. Each was good, the chicken with mushroom had an excellent sauce, served with basic rice. The gateau au chocolate with creme anglaise was excellent, and the salmon appetizer was quite good. Wiater was fun, struggled to help us order with our non-existent French and his limited English, but we had a good time with it all. The only down side is that there was a huge loud drunken party inside that night, but once they cleared out for the next bar, all was perfect. Benefit - they were still serving food at 11 PM on a Tuesday.

“Good vibe but average food”
Reviewed September 8, 2011

We took shelter in here one evening during a summer storm. It looks attractive and is spacious. It has a reputation for it's tasting menu. You choose 5 tapas from a list of 15 - you mark them off on your paper menu. Its all in French, and the English waitress was less than helpful in choosing dishes where are French was lacking. But even more mean was not to allow our 5 year old to share our meal - " we don't allowing sharing" we were told. Shame on them!

The general vibe was good - happy people around and good easy music. The house wine was fine, but the food was disappointing - average at the most - generally a disservice to the excellent food of France.

I wouldn't return - many far better places in wonderful Bordeaux.

“Don't bother, walk on by, there are plenty of places to go!”
Reviewed July 25, 2011

we were in search of lunch and this place looked ok, on the fringe of a big square. The first challenge is to work out the menu, then how to order, then just wait for a very long time for basic food. There are so many nice places to eat in Bordeaux and this cafe isn't one of them. Please don't waste a meal, go elsewhere.

“Food sucks”
Reviewed July 5, 2011

Nice looking place and great atmosphere, nice concept of tapas and the like. Service was good with English speaking girl.
Food wAs terrible. Which defeats the point of a restaurant. Honestly, it was crap. The food was warm not hot, everything under seasoned, nothing stood put and they used the same tomato based sauce for half the different dishes we chose ( one with an egg on top, one with mussels in it, and some others which I forget) .
Look, I eat around a lot and I wouldn't recommend this to my cat, it was mediocre and yuk.

“Watch the world go by in the evening sun”
Reviewed September 22, 2010

This spot a lovely big terrace on Victoire to watch the to-ings and fro-ings of the bordelais, and there was no rush to get there when we went as they seem to dine late. We had a cheap, but tasty carafe of wine and aubergine caviar and a multi cheese crepe gateau, all of which was very tasty, tho the aubergine dish was not very hearty for a main. The longer we were there the busier it got and the restaurant has a large number of covers, in varies styles of surroundings from the terrace, to a kind of library aesthetic to a bigger space good for large parties.
