We ate here our last night in France and wow, what a meal! Starters of amazing mushrooms in pastry with a cream sauce and goat cheese salad were followed with mouth watering Normandy pork, and tender and flavourful beef for my friend, accompanied by a tasty and reasonably priced Bordeaux as recommended on the blackboard. The prices were very reasonable too. We paid about 75 euros in total.

The hard working server helped translate the menu for us. The food was delicious.

HIGHLY recommended

One of the best meals we had in France. Our server took care of a full room like it was a science. Great recommendations. Every dish was fantastic, especially the Normandy pork.....wow! Great value as well.

Chose this restaurant based on other good Trip Advisor reviews. Booked a table from home before we went. The moules were an excellent starter, the main dishes we had were the Normandy pork and a fish dish cooked in a parcel with veg. Both good choices. Shared a plate of mixed cheeses and the profiteroles. Good wine, very good service and comfortable surroundings. It was refreshing not to have piped music interrupting the ambience.( perhaps I am getting old!!!)

We had made a reservation, but there was a confusion with the date, so the waitress was a bit awkward when we arrived. Nonetheless there was a table available and so we were able to dine anyway. Food was delicious, very generous portions. Homestyle cooking at its best. highly recommend.

The problem with this being such a high ranking restaurant on Trip Advisor is that you’ll find yourself surrounded by tourists rather than locals. This niggle aside (after all, I was one of the tourists!) it’s easy to see why this small restaurant is so popular – its beautiful traditional cooking makes you feel like a true Frenchman.

Superb, attentive but unhurried service is the cherry on the cake.

You really can’t go wrong – but you must book ahead or you’ll never get in.
