The Croc Loup is definitely worth a visit if you are in Bordeaux, while we didn't book I suggest you do given there are not many tables inside. I suggest getting the set menu of two courses so you can taste multiple options and include the cheese and dessert, be prepared though to be there for a couple of hours. The wine is also very reasonably priced. Our favourites were the Scallops and also the Gorgonzola among the cheeses.

Croc Loup was a fantastic foodie experience. We booked beforehand and had a nice table across from the window. The window seat is the best in the restaurant. They start you off with an amuse bouche which in our case was a tomato foam with caviare. What flavour. The dining room did get very hot during the meal so I just got up and opened the door. The girl who was serving went and propped it open properly. The food is amazingly good but if you have a small appetite pace yourself. The food portions are large. I found the dessert a bit sweet but my husband liked it. The service is not fast, but you aren't there to bolt your food. Enjoy it with patience.

A small restaurant resembling a front room, full with only 26 covers the evening we dined here. The was room a bit stuffy and got very warm during the evening; note to self that next time do not take a table beside the thin wooden partition between dining room and kitchen.
The food is traditional French with excellent ingredients and flavoursome sauces cooked to perfection except for the ravioli which was very thick instead of being melt in the mouth. We had the two course menu that also included a cheese plate, dessert and an amuse-bouche so really there was more than enough food. The wine list offered a good variety of wines covering a range of prices with something to suit everyone. We had a half carafe of rose and a very reasonably priced red. The meal was excellent and yes there were times when the wait between courses was a bit longer than ideal but not overly so, although the diners on the table beside ours did comment to the waitress that they felt the service had been slow. My feeling is that any delay was in the kitchen rather than delivery although the service that started off as being excellent was slow by the end of the evening when the waitress started to get tired. There really was far too much work for one server and although she worked hard and coped admirably, service did suffer. As well, the nature of the restaurant and the meal was such that most diners seemed to arrive at about the same time so there was a period when the kitchen was very busy.
All round this was an excellent dining experience that I would be more than happy to repeat and would recommend Croc Loup as a restaurant well worth a visit.

This place is like a Michelin star restaurant run at 70% discount.

Because the place is small with less than a dozen tables, it is almost fully booked everyday. We were turned down the first time so made a booked the next day and glad we did. The food was so nice (just ask for their signature dishes and order all of them - thats what we did) and cannot think of a possible complaint.
We could see the number of people who had to go back because all the tables are full..so make sure you have a reservation.
