Stayed here driving back to the UK from southern Spain. Hotel was 2 minutes from the motorway. Check in was very quick and straightforward, the reception staff spoke English. Our room was directly opposite the restaurant and on the ground floor. The room was very clean and bright, up to date and well furnished. The hotel was fully booked and turning people away so we thought it may be noisy, but far from it, the design obviously works as we heard nothing. Only one suggestion would be maybe have sky news on the tv system as not all guests speak French. Book well in advance as the room cost us €39 for a superior , walk in price was €60 for a basic room. It pays to book ahead.

Room Tip: Book in advance and choose a superior room.

This hotel has a good location, on the edge of town, and clearly signposted on the Avenue du Grand Basque. The hotel was heavily booked so we had to opt for a ‘Superior Room’ which turned out to be nothing more than a room adapted for a handicapped person. So, unless you have particular physical needs, steer clear of this more expensive option. Wifi was free but the connexion was very slow and unreliable. Dinner was good, with prompt friendly service. Breakfast, on the other hand, was a disaster. By 9:00 am the hotel had run out of croissants and baguette. When I raised this matter with the receptionist he was very rude, blaming the customers for being greedy and taking more than one croissant.

Reception was friendly enough and there was plenty of parking but the room was very small, adequate for a one night stop, but you wouldn't want to stop for any time. The room was clean enough and the bathroom all functioned correctly.
The evening meal was quite pricey, but as the hotel is a short walk from the river, another option might have been to take a walk into town to find a restaurant.
we were able to take our small dog with us into the room and breakfast the following morning was fine.
we would stop there again if we were passing through.

Used to stay at Campaniles regularly but the last two have been poor.
Very expensive at 80 euros for a very basic room (they advertised 70 Euros for weekends but only when we paid were we told that Sunday was not a weekend!!)
The food was quite simply dreadful - think UK motorway service stations in the 1990ss and you are not far wrong.
If you are looking for cheap and cheerful, use the cheaper sister company - Premiers Classe, they are usually on the same developments, have even smaller rooms (Similar to ferry cabins) but often less than 1/2 the price (paid 29 euros in Boulogne).

Room Tip: Look elsewhere Premiere Classe/Bonne Nuit etc

As said before, a hotel to avoid. The room is very small and square, like a box. You can stay there only to sleep as there is no space to walk! The bed is good though but in general not a place to recommend if you consider the price you pay for the room. I would return there only if there was not anywhere else to go. The receptionist was nice and the food ( lunch ) at the restaurant was quite good. We did not have breakfast. The size of the room makes it not worth staying there.
