This small jewel is just steps away from Le Bouclier d'Or. We loved the innovative menu so much that we ate here 3 or our 4 nights in Strasbourg. When I see beef cheeks on the menu, I am in heaven. The dishes are beautifully presented and the desserts are irresistible.

Because it is small, I would recommend reservations. The waitstaff here is friendly and helpful, even those who have no English will go out of their way to help.

When we came in for our third visit, the staff just grinned! They knew what we knew...we were addicted.

“Enjoy the experience even with limited services”
Reviewed October 25, 2013 via mobile

Being the first day of our visit to Strasbourg, we requested the hotel receptionist to recommend a very good French restaurant.
She gave us couple restaurants and one of them was "L' Eveil des Sens". We decided the the above was only minutes of walking distance from the Regent Petite France where we stay, it was worth exploring. Hence we had the hotel to book a table for two for us that evening.

Before our reservation time, we took a casual walk toward the restaurant. We noticed that there were many restaurants with some very good reputation (few recommended by the Trip-advisor as top pick). We arrived at the restaurant before our reservation time of 8:00 p.m. The restaurant was quite crowded, our table was next to the cash register which was actually the best choice.

Our order of starters of foie gras and crusted mushroom follow by main of pork and veal accompanied with a bottle of Chablis. We enjoyed the various dishes and amazed how well prepared and creative went into them. Our overall experiences was good however the services can be improved if they were less busy. We believe the owner/manager realized the shortfall and tried to make up for it.

“Traditional French with a touch of fine dining”
Reviewed September 29, 2013 via mobile

We followed a hotel recommendation to this restaurant and had a very good experience. We were given an amuse bouche which was a trio of little bites: salmon mousse, carrot gazpacho and a Parmesan biscuit. All of them tasted great and went well together. We both took the same entrée, a delicious dish of lobster with ravioli of lobster in a hearty bisque. This was very good and the high point of the meal. I had the veal knuckle main course. The tender meat was pulled from the knuckle and cooked with hearty vegetables and served wrapped in cabbage. Delicious. My boyfriend had the filet de beouf, which was less successful, served with seasonal mushrooms and pepper in a broth. Who thought it was a good idea to sear a steak and then drown it in consommé? We both had the crème brûlée with plums for dessert and it was lovely. The wine menu was massive. We chose a Pinot noir from Alsace at €27 and it was good. On asking for the bill we were given a small coffee mousse with a miniature muffin petit four. The staff were all very nice to us.

“L'Eveil des Sens”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

Did not actually see the reviews on tripadvisor and found it on the off chance because the one we wanted was closed. Service was great - English spoken fairly well. Food was amazing and very good value. Set price for 2 courses. Huge selection of wines. Maybe we were so lively and complimentary but we got an extra dessert after we had the desserts we ordered. We all agreed the meal was the highlight of our trip.
