“Not just cheese.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2013

I wasn't sure about going to a cheese restaurant for evening meal, but needn't have been concerned at all. You can definitely have fondue and heated raclette cheese dripping on your veges (and why not), but the salads and other mains are lovely as well, good wine list, very good service. All in all a great place to go in Strasbourg. I'd suggest maybe not for very young children with all the burning fondues and heating elements everywhere, but otherwise would be a hit with kids.

“Very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

Nice place with a great selections of cheeses. Fondue, offered in various versions, is very good and makes a play to eat it.
We found very kind waiters but a special note is for the joung lady, perhaps a bit robust, who greets clients with a fantastic smile in a ruddy face.
very important to make a reservation.

“Cheese all over”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2012

Well, let me start by saying that this is a restaurant for cheese lovers. The smellier, the better. A big no-no for those unfortunate lactose-intolerant friends of yours.

I would advise you to book a table in advance and visit this restaurant during late-autumn or winter. Do not wear your best suit or tie because then you will have to visit the dry cleaners for sure, as the smell tends to remind you of your visit to Strasbourg months later even.

Different types of fondues are available. Try them all! If you are part of a larger group go ahead and order different dishes and try as much as possible. A good wine should make the evening complete.

“My favorite restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

This restaurant is a must for anyone traveling to or near Strasbourg, France. The have a guy there, who I like to call "The Cheese Sommelier." I'm sure there's a proper term for that, but I like mine. Order a cheese fondue - there are several to choose from. Be sure to have him tell you all of what's in it. And if there are two or more in your party, someone else should order a cheese plate - 21 different kinds of cheese! Again, the cheese sommelier will tell you all about the different kinds of cheeses, and in which order to taste them. What an experience! If there are still more people in your party, someone really should order the raclette... really cool!

“THE best cheese place!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2012

If you like french cheeses, you have to go to this place. You can taste all possible cheeses available in the restaurant. And if you wish to bring some of them at home, you have the shop in front of the restaurant...
