A nice little hotel, typical french with beautiful decor. The room was tiny but up to date. Location was not so good, as the hotel did not have a restaurant and no nice restaurants around, you have a good 30min walk to the center to find something descent. They were understaffed and only 1 grumpy person in the reception who also took care of the bar. Although the room was good value for money, the extra charge of 20€ for our dog and 13€ for parking, it suddenly became quite expensive.

Stayed 2 nights early April. Although it took about 10 minutes walking to get there from the train station.. it was totally worth it !!

The hotel is very nice, the staff were always helpful and never annoyed with the questions :) (something you too often see in other places..)

Was amazed really with the room.. booked the luxury room and it really was what was we expected ! King size bed, really nice bathroom, very clean..

This hotel is a must in Strasbourg... the only thing is that it's about 10-15 minutes of walking distance to the historical center.. but if you're not in a hurry, that won't matter..

the area is secure.. quite pretty.. and once in the hotel, everything is comfy, quiet, and just wonderful :)

I would certainly go back if I visit Strasbourg again..

Really worth it.

We stayed for two nights at the Villa D'Est. Although totally different from its famous namesake that I would need to mortgage the house for in order to stay for one night, "Our" Villa D'Est more than made up for it's lack of history by having a staff that were cheerful, friendly and a great source of local information.
It's not "on the island" which we found to be a good thing, as we enjoyed our 10 minute walk into the central area each day and found new ways to explore unfamiliar streets. Our room was fresh and clean with a well appointed bathroom, and although close to the lift it was very quiet. We must be getting old because we found the beds a little too firm for our older joints!
There is no evening dining room but the room service meal was sufficient and of a reasonable standard. Breakfast is provided and ample and a nice touch is a "precis" of the daily news on two sheets of paper in different languages provided by the hotel staff.
One warning: do use the lift and not the stairs: the stairs are quite steep and circular and if one were of an unsteady predisposition, one might "go down" faster than one anticipated! That said, there was never any problem with waiting for a lift.

We stayed here for 2 nights, very cosy and clean room. Friendly service. Delicious breakfast buffet. But... one huge problem: when our neighbors next door arrived to their room i really thought they entered ours. They should use soundproofing materials to isolate their rooms, i slept very badly. I could here our neighbors put their toothbrush in a glass!

We stayed in villa d'est for one night, our room was small but recently renovated and very nicely decorated. We also thought the breakfast was fantastic, and the terrace outside very enjoyable for a drink in the evening. Another positive aspect was that even though the hotel has got no parking, it is very easy to park the car in the surrounding streets. The only (minor) negative point was linked to the lift and the stairs: there is only one lift and it can be very long before it reaches your floor, thus we were tempted to use the stairs but we did it only once as they are really steep and not very clean => far from the rest of the hotel's standards. Anyway, all in all we were happy with our stay and will come back again.

The room we stayed in was a "classic" which was well appointed and looked recently refurbished. The room felt quite plush but strangely the shower was only hand-held over the bath.
We had a good rate on Expedia of £62/night and thought this very good value. The hotel is situated 10-15mins walk from the centre of Strasbourg whcih is fine if you don't mind pounding the pavement a bit. We had a car and parked in the hotel's "garage" which was €13 for a night. Apparently there is metred parking on the street and other car-parks nearby but for one night we plumped for the garage which was secure although it's a few hundred metres from the hotel .
Our main gripe is that at 7am, a workman started to do something in the room next door whcih was a bit annoying as we were hoping for a lie in. The hotel wasn't full and the management could have considered where else work could have been carried out at that time of day, rather than right next door to one of the occupied rooms. Apart from this hopefully unique issue, the hotel made for a good, comfortable stay and is situated just close enough to the centre to enjoy Strasbourg on foot.
