“disappointed”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

Went here after a rash of indecision in Petite France and a lack of interest in waiting for an hour for a good Alsatian dinner. The meal was fine, but unexceptional. The charcroute was OK - I had the misfortune of some particularly fatty cuts of meat and some unexceptional knockwurst (tho to be fair the pork was tasty).

“Surprised and delighted”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We went on a Monday evening and the restaurant was not full. We were warmly greeted at the door. The waitress was very nice and took the time to explain some of the menu items. The atmosphere was very modern and the restaurant was very clean.
We ordered a Toasted Goat Cheese Salad and an Onion Tart for our appetizers. A Bouchée a la Reine and a Cordon Bleu au Munster for our main courses. The food was served hot and tasted delicious! We were so full that we couldn't have dessert!
We will definitely go back to try other dishes and will recommend this adress to all our friends.

“Welcome newcomer to the Strasbourg”
Reviewed September 28, 2011

This restaurant offers an interesting and enjoyable mixture of ancient and modern in Strasbourg. It is pleasantly quiet at the far end of Petit France. The food is consistently good and the service helpful and agreeable. Overall, a welcome addition to the sometimes rather sterotypical Strasbourg restaurant scene...

“Best meal of our trip”
Reviewed June 18, 2011

We spent a total of 7 days in France during our recent trip to France and Switzerland and we had our best meal here in Argentoratum. We came to know of this restaurant courtesy of the owner of the hotel we had stayed in Strasbourg. When we were in Paris, we spent an average of 15euros per person per meal and were utterly HORRIFIED by the poor quality of food served at the restaurants in the St-Michel area. When we saw the prices on the menu, we were greatly surprised that we could order a main course for just 8.50euros. We decided to go with the 'plat du jour' menu of that day(Check the restaurant's website for the menu and food prices). When the chicken dish arrived, we knew it would taste as good as it looked. We also ordered a 'foie gras' pate as entree and a cheesecake for dessert. Granted that we've NEVER eaten 'foie gras' in our entire lives, this dish was nothing like what we have ever eaten before. We thought nothing could top it until we were served the cheesecake. Again, we were utterly bowled over by it as it did not look like the conventional American cheesecake that we get a lot of in our country. This cheesecake looked like a cross between a cheesecake and a souffle. Every mouthful was simply divine. If you should ever drop by Strasbourg, be sure to visit this restaurant for good value-for-money French food. I can assure you that you won't live to regret it. Enjoy!
